
John Erskine Heads to Dallas

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies National Hockey League affiliate, the Dallas Stars, announced today that they have re-called defenseman John Erskine from the Grizzlies.
Erskine, 22, leads the American Hockey League with 219 penalty minutes and is experiencing a career season matching highs in points (9) and goals (2) in 36 games. The 6-4, 215-pound defenseman is tied for second on the team with a +7 rating and has also contributed seven assists. Last season, Erskine appeared in 33 games as a rookie for Dallas recording an assist and 62 penalty minutes. In 39 games for Utah he posted eight points (2-6-8) and 118 penalty minutes.
The Kingston, Ontario native was originally a second round selection 39th overall) of the Stars in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
