The Storm's 26-7-4 record gives Toledo 56 points, which places the Storm in first place in the overall ECHL point standings. The Storm is the only team in the league at this stage of the season to have 26 wins.

Toledo's .757 win percentage is the best in the league.

The Storm has not been defeated in regulation in five consecutive games (3-0-2). The longest unbeaten in regulation streak this season for Toledo this year is seven games, which the team has done twice: 10/11 to 10/27 and 12/14 to 12/31.

Toledo is 10-1-2 in the past thirteen games, dating to December 14, 2002.

The Storm is currently on the longest road trip of the season for the team, having played four of what will be five consecutive games away from the Toledo Sports Arena. The Storm is 3-0-1 on this trip and is 7-1-1 in the team's last nine road games dating back to December 14. Overall this season, the Storm is 11-6-2 on the road.

During the past week the Storm played four games against Southern Conference opponents, and Toledo went 3-0-1 in those games. Toledo has played six games this season against teams from the Southern Conference, and the Storm has compiled a record of 5-0-1 in those games. Toledo has two more games against teams from the South: (i) February 2 v. Mississippi Sea Wolves @ Toledo Sports Arena; and (ii) March 1 v. Louisiana IceGators @ Toledo Sports Arena.

The last seven consecutive games for the Storm have all been decided by one goal. Toledo has gone 4-1-2 in those games. Overall this season, the Storm is 12-2-4 in games decided by one goal.

The Storm scored the first goal of the game against Arkansas last Tuesday 52 seconds into the first period by Nick Parillo on the power play. Toledo ended up winning that game in a shootout by a final score of 5-4.That marked the tenth consecutive game in which Toledo had scored the game's first goal. That streak was snapped on Wednesday when the Jackson Bandits scored first in a game ultimately won by Toledo, 5-4 in regulation. The Storm returned to the trend of scoring first in the 4-3 shootout loss to Baton Rouge on Friday, as well as the 2-1 win over Pensacola on Sunday. Toledo is 21-1-3 when scoring first this season.

The Storm was out-shot 31-24 by the Arkansas Riverblades last Tuesday. Toledo was also out-shot by Jackson (43-29) and Pensacola (45-20) this week. In fact, the Storm has been out-shot by the opponent in five of the last seven games that Toledo has played. The Storm is 11-4-0 when getting out-shot by the opponent this season.

When the Storm gave up 43 shots to the Jackson Bandits last Wednesday the team established a season high in shots against; however, that record was broken on Sunday when the Storm allowed 45 shots to the Pensacola Ice Pilots. That marked only the fourth time all season that the Storm has given up forty or more shots; however, three of those games have come within the last seven played by Toledo. Over the course of the season, Toledo averages giving up 31.38 shots per game, which places the Storm fourteenth in the league in that category.

The Storm out-shot the Baton Rouge Kingfish 46-30 on Friday night. That marked the twenty-second time that Toledo has out-shot the opponent this year. The Storm is 15-3-4 in those games. It also marked the eleventh time this season that the Storm has had forty or more shots in a single game this year. Overall, the Storm is averaging 35.11 shots on goal per game, which is the best in the league in that category.

The Storm gave up four goals to the Arkansas Riverblades. In fact, Toledo gave up four goals to the opponent in four consecutive games dating to the 4-3 shootout loss to the Cincinnati Cyclones on January 4: (5-4 shootout win @ Arkansas; 5-4 win @ Jackson; and 4-3 shootout loss @ Baton Rouge). Prior to that string of games, the Storm had given up more than three goals to the opponent in only seven of 32 games. Toledo's team goals against average is currently 2.78 which ties the team for second in the league in that category.

The Storm scored five goals in the 5-4 shootout win over the Arkansas Riverblades, as well as the 5-4 win over Jackson on the following night. The Storm has scored five or more goals in nine games this season, and the team' s record is 9-0-0 in those games. Overall, the Storm averages scoring 3.54 goals per game, which is tied for ninth in that category.

In Wednesday's game against Jackson, the Bandits scored first and led 1-0 after one period. Toledo came back to win that game, 5-4. That marked the first time this season that the Storm trailed after one period and came back to win. Toledo's record is 1-5-2 when trailing after one period.

In the 5-4 win over Jackson on Wednesday, Darryl Bootland scored three goals. That marked the second hattrick of the season for the Storm. Alexandre Jacques scored three goals against the Dayton Bombers on November 16. That was the first hattrick of Bootland's pro career.

One of Darryl Bootland's goals on Wednesday turned out to be the game winner. That was his second game winning goal of the season.

In the game against Jackson, the Storm scored four goals and gave up three goals in the second period. That established a season high (7 goals) for goals in a single period scored by both teams in a game played by the Storm.

The Storm's four goal second period against Jackson marked the fourth time this season that Toledo has scored four goals in a single period. All three prior times were against the Wheeling Nailers: (i) 10/25 [first period]; (ii) 11/22 [third period]; and (iii) 12/14 [third period].

The three goals that the Storm gave up to Jackson in the second period last Wednesday tied a season high, as well. The Storm has given up three goals in a period five times this season. The other four were: (i) 10/12 @ Johnstown [second period]; (ii) 10/25 v. Wheeling [third period]; (iii) 10/27 v. Dayton [second period]; and (iv) 11/30 v. Dayton [second period].

Jackson scored three power play goals (in five chances) against the Storm in Wednesday's game. That marked the first time all season that a team has scored more than two power play goals against the Storm in a single game. Toledo gave up two power play goals to Baton Rouge in the 4-3 shootout loss on Friday. The Storm has given up two (or more) power play goals against in ten games this season. Overall, Toledo has allowed 38 power play goals against in 223 opportunities for the opponent, which is an 83% kill ratio-seventh in the ECHL.

In the Jackson game, the Storm power play countered with two power play goals (in five chances). That marked the tenth time this season that Toledo has scored two or more power play goals in a single game. Toledo has scored at least one power play goal in each of the team's last four consecutive games. Overall, the Storm has scored 40 power play goals in 224 chances. That is a 17.9% scoring ratio-17th in the ECHL.

One of the power play goals scored by the Storm against Baton Rouge put the team up by a score of 3-2 1:32 into the third period of play. That goal was scored by Matt Ellis and marked the fourth goal that Ellis had scored in his previous five games. It also extended Ellis' personal point streak to six games (4g-4a=8pts). That streak was snapped on Sunday in Pensacola.

Goaltender Mike Minard stopped 27 of the 30 shots he saw during regulation and the four-on-four sudden death overtime in the 4-3 shootout loss to the Baton Rouge Kingfish on Friday. That was Minard's first appearance for the Storm. Toledo has had six different goaltenders wear the Storm sweater this season.

The game against Baton Rouge marked the third game in four that went all the way to the shootout for the Storm. On Saturday, January 4, the Cincinnati Cyclones beat the Storm 4-3 in a shootout; and, on Tuesday, January 7, the Storm beat the Arkansas Riverblades 5-4 in a shootout. Doug Teskey was the goaltender in those two games. He stopped two of the five shootout attempts by the Cyclones; and three of the five shootout attempts by Arkansas on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Mike Minard was the Storm goaltender, and he stopped two of the four shots he faced in the shootout from the Kingfish.

Overall, this season, the Storm has now been in six shootouts and the team is 3-3 in those games. Overall, Storm goaltenders have allowed nine goals in twenty-seven shootout attempts against; and Storm shooters have scored nine goals in the twenty-seven attempts that the team has taken this season.

Storm goaltender, Doug Teskey, made a season high 44 saves in the 2-1 victory over the Pensacola Ice Pilots on Sunday. That marked the eighteenth win for Teskey this season, which places him third amongst goaltenders in the ECHL in that category.

Jeff Johnstone scored the game winning goal in Sunday's game against Pensacola at the 2:02 mark of the second period. That was Johnstone's first game winning goal of the season; and he became the fourteenth player to score a game-winning goal for the Storm this year.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: Darryl Bootland (3 goals - 3 assists = 6 points, +3, 1 gwg, 1 ppg) Darryl Bootland started the week by scoring on his shootout attempt in the 5-4 shootout win for the Storm over the Arkansas Riverblades on Tuesday. He followed that up with his first professional hattrick, scoring three goals against the Jackson Bandits on Wednesday. In that game, one of his goals was a power play goal and another turned out to be the game winner. In Friday's 4-3 shootout loss to Baton Rouge, Darryl assisted on two of the three goals scored by the Storm, including the power play goal that put the Storm up 3-2 1:32 into the third period. Darryl also assisted on the Storm's first goal in the 2-1 victory over Pensacola on Sunday. On that goal, he appeared to be knocked down and out of the play before battling to his feet in the left wing corner and finding Paul Ballantyne with a diagonal feed at the right wing point. Ballantyne scored with just 27 seconds left in the first period to give the Storm a 1-0 lead.

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:

Doug Teskey (3-0-0, 2.94, .924) Doug Teskey had another exceptional week for the Storm, winning all three games that he played. He started the week with a 5-4 win over the Arkansas Riverblades, stopping 27 of the 31 shots he faced, as well as two of the five that he saw in the shootout. In Wednesday's 5-4 win over Jackson, Doug tied a team season high with 39 stops on 43 shots-many of them in a late period flurry that the Storm repelled thanks in large part to several athletic stops by Doug. In Sunday's 2-1 win, Doug established a new team high with 44 stops on 45 shots to win his eighteenth game of the season, which places him third in that category amongst goaltenders in the league.
