Baton Rouge Kingfish News Release

The Baton Rouge Kingfish announced today that they have acquired Curtis Menzul and Dwayne Blais in a trade with the Mississippi Sea Wolves in exchange for defenseman Sean Peach.

Menzul comes to the Kingfish after previous stops in Greenville and Toledo before being acquired by the Sea Wolves. The Defenseman has tallied two assists on the season, both with the Sea Wolves.

"Curtis is a big guy with some pretty good strength in front of the net," said Kingfish Coach Cam Brown, "and he has played on some good teams and knows how to succeed."

Blais spent last season with the Colorado Gold Kings of the West Coast Hockey League before joining the Sea Wolves before the beginning of this season.

"Dwayne is a good penalty killer," said Brown, "and he is very versatile up front and can play either at center or on a wing."

In 40 games this season with the Sea Wolves, Blais has tallied 6 goals and 6 assists for 12 points while picking up 37 penalty minutes.

Sean Peach has tallied 3 goals and 13 assists on 37 games this season with the Kingfish.
