Fresno Pulls Out Third Period Win

Bakersfield came out gunning on Friday night, putting up one of the highest shot totals of the season, but falling 3-1 to the Falcons. The Condors took a 1-0 lead early in the game, as Jon Sorg fired home his sixth goal of the season just 3:50 in. They had a 15-6 lead in shots through the first 20 minutes. In the second frame, Bakersfield continued to fire away at Fresno netminder Terry Friesen, to no avail. Friesen stopped 34 of 35 shots through the first two periods, as the score remained 1-0. Early in the third, Fresno pushed in front, scoring twice in the first minute and adding an insurance tally at 4:45 to make it 3-1. That was the final score, despite the Condors outshooting the opposition 47-23.

Saturday, January 11 Attendance: 6,548
Dube Records First Career Victory

With the Condors in need of a goaltender, and without Kevin St. Pierre (IR), Danielle Dube came to the rescue, acquired earlier in the day from the Long Beach Ice Dogs. The Condors once again led early in shots, putting up 18 in the first. Paul Willett scored on the power play in the opening frame to make it 1-0. After Anchorage tied the game at 1-1, Jason Jackman and Christian Skoryna tallied late to push Bakersfield ahead 3-1. The Aces hung close, pulling within a goal three separate times, but the Condors and Dube withstood the attack. She stopped 16 of 20 shots in the game for her first career victory, while Shawn Byram and Jason Ralph lit the lamp, and Jackman scored his second of the game to put it out of reach. The Condors recorded 47 shots on goal for the second straight night.
