Wednesday, January 8 Wheeling 3 @ Cincinnati 1
The Nailers traveled to Cincinnati for the second time this season having lost the first time. Cincinnati took a 1-0 lead at 17:31 of the first period on a power play goal. Aaron Brand scored the goal with Ryan Gaucher and Greg Labenski assisting. The Nailers tied the game 1-1 at 8:03 of the second period. Dmitri Doulebenets scored and unassisted shorthanded goal to tie the game. Doulebenets scored his second goal of the game at 11:01 of the third period to give the Nailers the lead at 2-1. Michel Ouellet assisted on the go ahead goal. The Nailers ended the scoring with an empty net goal at 19:35. Mark Major scored the goal with Steve Crampton and J.P. Soucy assisting. Tyler MacKay recorded his first win of the season with the Nailers by making 32 saves on 33 shots.
Friday, January 10 Johnstown 3 @ Wheeling 4
Wheeling had to come from behind for the second straight game for the win. Wheeling took the lead 1-0 in the first period at 15:14 on a Matt Smith goal. J.P. Soucy and Arpad Mihaly assisted on the goal. The Nailers fell behind in the second period as Johnstown scored three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead. Former Nailer J.F. Boutin scored the first of his two goals at 2:52 of the second period to tie the game 1-1. Johnstown took a 2-1 lead at 9:01 on a Phil Roy power play goal from Dominic Forget and Boutin. Boutin scored his second goal at 11:09 from Jeff Sullivan and Sam St. Pierre. Before the second period ended the Nailers added another goal to get back to within one goal at 3-2. The goal was a power play goal by Mario Larocque from Ryan Gillis and Matt Smith. In the third period the Nailers tied the game 3-3 on Derek Ernest's first goal of the season. Dmitri Doulebenets and J.P. Soucy assisted on the tying goal. The Nailers completed their comeback at 6:49 of the third period on a Zenon Konopka goal. Larocque and Doulebenets assisted on the game-winning goal. Tyler MacKay made 36 saves on 39 shots for the win.
Sunday, January 12 Peoria 2 @ Wheeling 0
The Nailers were 3-2-0 against the Rivermen this season entering this game. The Nailers had a two game winning streak snapped with this loss while the Rivermen extended their winning streak to six games. Peoria took a 1-0 lead at 4:26 of the first period on a Greg Day unassisted goal. In the second period the Rivermen extended their lead to 2-0 on a Randy Copley goal. Day and Randy Rowe assisted on the goal at 11:04. The Nailers outshot the Rivermen 19-5 in the third period and 41-31 in the game but could not get a shot past Peoria goaltender Alfie Michaud. The two teams combined for 108 penalty minutes in the game due to 12 fighting majors. Tyler MacKay made 29 saves on 31 shots in the loss.

Wednesday, January 15 Wheeling @ Richmond 7:05p.m.
The Nailers travel to Richmond for the first of two games there during the regular season. The Renegades played in Wheeling once this season and beat the Nailers 6-0. The Nailers are 23-24-5 all time against the Renegades, including 0-1-0 this season.
Friday, January 17 Reading @ Wheeling 7:30p.m.
The Nailers are 0-3-1 against the Royals this season, 0-1-1 at home. In the last meeting the Nailers lost in overtime 4-3 at the Wheeling Civic Center. The first 1,500 fans in attendance to this game will receive a Nailers Coffee Mug courtesy of Emstar, OVMC and East Ohio Regional Hospital.
Saturday, January 18 Dayton @ Wheeling 7:30p.m.
The Nailers have played the Bombers six times this season and are 2-3-1, 0-1-1 at home. This game will be Boy Scouts of America night with many Boy Scouts of the Ohio Valley attending the game. The game will also be televised on WTOV-9 and the first 2,000 fans will receive a rally towel courtesy of WTOV-9.
Player of the Week
The Nailers Player of the Week is Dmitri Doulebenets. Doulebenets ended the week with two goals, including a game winner, and two assists for four points. He also played at a +3 in the +/- category. He had two goals in the win in Cincinnati and added two assists in the home win against Johnstown.
Goaltender of the Week
The Nailers Goaltender of the Week is Tyler MacKay. MacKay went 2-1-0 in three games during the week. MacKay faced 103 shots in the three games he played and made 97 saves. He had a goals against average of 2.00 and a save percentage of .942.
