Wheeling's Win Streak Halted in Norfolk

January 16, 2026 - NORFOLK, VA - Strong defense and goaltending was on display at Norfolk Scope Arena on Friday night, as the Wheeling Nailers and Norfolk Admirals played the first of two games this weekend. Only three goals were scored on 49 shots on goal, as the Admirals prevailed, 2-1, to extend their winning streak to five games, while bringing Wheeling's five-game winning streak to an end. Nailers Announce Rescheduled Dates for Postponed Games

January 16, 2026 - WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced the new dates for the games that were postponed at the end of December. The game originally scheduled for Friday, December 26th between the Wheeling Nailers and Toledo Walleye at Huntington Center will now be played on Friday, April 17th at 7:15. January 15, 2026 - WesBanco Arena has produced a huge home ice advantage for the Wheeling Nailers during the 2025-26 season. Last weekend, the Nailers completed a 5-1-0 homestand with a three-game sweep of the defending Kelly Cup Champion Trois-Rivières Lions. Wheeling is now 14-2-1 on home ice and is back at the top of the ECHL standings at 25-7-1, which is good for 51 points. Nailers Sweep Lions for Fifth Straight Win

January 11, 2026 - WHEELING, WV- The Trois-Rivières Lions may have captured the ECHL's greatest hardware in 2024-25, but this weekend at WesBanco Arena, the Wheeling Nailers weren't about to bow down to the defending champions. Wheeling swept Trois-Rivières in three games, while outscoring the Lions, 13-5. In Sunday's contest, Craig Armstrong opened the scoring just 12 seconds into play, then added an empty netter to cap off a 4-2 triumph on home ice.
