Wheeling Whips Wings, 7-2
February 27, 2026 - WHEELING, WV- Friday night was absolute dominance by the Wheeling Nailers, as they bounced back into a tie for first place in the North Division by clobbering the Kalamazoo Wings, 7-2 at WesBanco Arena. Craig Armstrong scored twice, and Ryan McAllister pitched in with three points, as 15 of Wheeling's 18 skaters made their way onto the scoresheet with at least one point. February 25, 2026 - WHEELING, WV - Wednesday night at WesBanco Arena was a challenging one for the Wheeling Nailers, who ran into a team that has been clicking on all cylinders away from home. Wheeling built a 2-0 lead in the first period, but the Fort Wayne Komets bounced back by scoring six of the game's final seven goals to earn at least a point in their 18th straight road game (12-0-6). The Wheeling Nailers had nine days off since their last game, and they will look to use that extra rest to their advantage, as the remainder of the regular season will see them play 24 games in 53 days. Wheeling is 4-2-1 in its last seven contests, and is currently tied for first place in the North Division with an overall mark of 30-13-5, which is good for 65 points. Reading Prevails in Marathon 14-Round Shootout
February 15, 2026 - WHEELING, WV- Sunday afternoon's weekend finale between the Wheeling Nailers and Reading Royals at WesBanco Arena refused to end. The two division rivals battled through a 2-2 tie in regulation, then overtime, and eventually a 14-round shootout, before the Royals ultimately escaped with the 3-2 win. Miles Gendron scored the deciding goal in the longest shootout in Wheeling Hockey History in a game that took three hours and five minutes to play.
