Black Bears 2026 Coaching Staff Under First-Year Manager Tim Garland Announced
April 8, 2026 - The West Virginia Black Bears are proud to announce the 2026 coaching staff under first-year manager Tim Garland. Pitching coach Andy Hurtado and hitting coach Antonio Caballero return for their second and fourth seasons, respectively, with athletic trainer Ashley Childers joining Garland's staff.

March 24, 2026 - GRANVILLE, W.Va. - The West Virginia Black Bears are excited to announce Tim Garland has been named manager for the 2026 MLB Draft League season. Garland becomes the eighth manager in Black Bears history after spending the last four seasons as a bench coach in the Detroit Tigers organization.

October 10, 2025 - The West Virginia Black Bears today announced another season of summer baseball at Kendrick Family Ballpark with the release of their 2026 season schedule. West Virginia begins its defense of the 2025 MLB Draft League Championship on the road against the Williamsport Crosscutters at Journey Bank Ballpark, Tuesday, June 2, before returning for its Home Opener on Tuesday, June 9.
