Johnstown Chiefs News Release
The Johnstown Chiefs (14-19-7; 35 PTS; T-5th NW div.) went 0-1-2 last week with a loss against Wheeling, a shoot out loss at home against Lexington, and an overtime loss at Dayton Sunday night. The Chiefs have one of their busiest weeks all year coming up, with four games in five nights. Wednesday night they are at home against Toledo, then off to Peoria for games Friday and Saturday night, and closing up the trip Sunday night at Dayton. The Chiefs are currently in a three way tie for fifth place in the Northwest division with Lexington and Dayton.
GAME #38 (1/10/03) WHEELING 4 â Johnstown 3 Boutin Two Goals, Assist
The Chiefs held a 3-2 lead going into the third period but surrendered two goals to the Wheeling Nailers just 4:07 apart. The Nailers would hold on for the 4-3 win Friday night. J.F. Boutin scored two goals for the Chiefs, while Phil Roy also scored. Peter Aubry made 29 saves in the defeat.
GAME #39 (1/11/03) Lexington 5 â JOHNSTOWN 4 (SO) St. Pierre Two Goals
Lexington's Marc-Andre Thinel scored with just 2:55 left in regulation to tie the Chiefs 4-4. Lexington would win the shoot out by a score of 3-0. The Chiefs got two goals from Sam St. Pierre, and a goal a piece by Lukas Smital and J.F. Boutin. Peter Aubry made 24 saves in the contest. The Chiefs were 3 for 6 on the power play.
GAME #40 (1/12/03) Dayton 4 â JOHNSTOWN 3 (OT) Forget Two Goals, Assist
Dayton Bombers defenseman Jason Crain's goal 2:11 into overtime gave the Bombers a 4-3 (OT) win Sunday night. The Chiefs got two goals from Dominic Forget while J.F. Boutin also scored. Peter Aubry made 56 saves in the game as Dayton out shot the Chiefs 60-16. The Bombers were 1 for 10 on the power play, while the Chiefs were 2 for 4.

The Chiefs and the Toledo Storm (26-7-4; 56 PTS, 1st NW div.) meet for the sixth time this season Wednesday night. The Chiefs are 2-3-0 against the Storm this season. Both of the wins against Toledo were at the War Memorial. The Storm has out scored the Chiefs 20-14. Johnstown is 36-37-0 all-time against Toledo. Toledo has the best record in the ECHL and is 7- 1-2 in their last ten games.

Johnstown will travel to Peoria (25-10-2; 52 PTS, 2nd NW div.) for the final time this regular season when they take on the Rivermen for a pair of games. The Chiefs are 2-4-0 against the Rivermen this season. Peoria has outscored the Chiefs 20-17. Peoria has won their last six games and are 9-1-0 in their last ten games.

Sunday night the Chiefs will travel to Ohio to take on the Dayton Bombers (14-20-7; 35 PTS, T-5th NW div.). The Chiefs are 5-0-1 against the Bombers this season. Johnstown has out scored Dayton 27-15. Three of the Johnstown wins have come at the Nutter Center. The Chiefs are 37-41-8 all-time against the Bombers.
CHIEFS NOTES:
- The line of J.F. Boutin (4), Sam St. Pierre (2) and Dominic Forget (2) combined to score eight of the Chiefs ten goals on the weekend.
- Lukas Smital (103) is four goals away from being the Chiefs all-time leading goal scorer (Bruce Coles 106).
- The Chiefs are 1-1-3 in their last five games.
- Peter Aubry has a 3.53 GAA and a 0.879 save percentage at home (12 games) and 2.42 GAA and a 0.934 save percentage on the road (16 games)
