Long weekend ends with 5-0 loss in Richmond on Sunday

RICHMOND, VA – After losing a pair of games at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania on Friday (7-2) and Saturday (4-3), the Greenville Grrrowl traveled to Richmond Sunday afternoon and were shutout, 5-0.

Renegades defenseman Peter Hogan opened the scoring with a powerplay goal at 13:21 of the first period, and Lars Pettersen made it 2-0 at 18:12 of period one. Brad Church made it 3-0 at 4:38 of the second period after a mad scramble in Greenville territory. And Nick Lent gave Richmond a 4-0 lead at 18:00 of the second period. Ian Turner capped the scoring with his first professional goal in the third period, and the Richmond Renegades blanked the Greenville Grrrowl 5-0. The ‘Gades outshot the Grrrowl 33-32, as JAYME PLATT went the distance and suffered the loss in goal for Greenville.

Greenville's 4-game road trip ends in Lexington, Kentucky next Friday night at 7:30 PM (Newsradio 1330 & 950, WORD).
