Trenton's Rudkowsky Named East Coast Hockey League Goalie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Trenton's Cody Rudkowsky is the East Coast Hockey League Goalie of the Week for January 6-12.

The 24-year-old Rudkowsky was 3-0 with a 2.00 goals against average and a ..938 save percentage as Trenton went 3-1 on its four-game road trip.

Rudkowsky opened the week making 31 saves in a 4-3 win at Charlotte on Tuesday. He made 31 saves in a 4-2 win at Columbia on Thursday and had 29 saves in a 3-1 win at South Carolina on Friday.

The 6-1 and 201-pound Rudkowsky is 12-2-5 and ranks seventh in the ECHL with a 2.58 goals against average and has a .918 save percentage.

Rudkowsky opened 2002-03 with Trenton, making 15 saves in the Titans' 4-3 season-opening win over Richmond on October 11. He was called up to Worcester of the American Hockey League on October 14, but did not appear in a game before being called up to St. Louis of the National Hockey League. He won his NHL debut on October 24 making 10 saves after entering the game in the second period to replace former Peoria teammate Curtis Sanford, who was forced to leave because of injury. Rudkowsky is the only player in history to win in the ECHL, win in the NHL and return to win in the ECHL all in the same season.
