
Everblades Remain in Second after 1-3-0 Week

Florida Everblades News Release
The Florida Everblades defeated the Pensacola Ice Pilots 10-5 on Tuesday night and then fell 7-3 in Pee Dee on Friday night and were swept in a pair of weekend games on Saturday and Sunday in Augusta 5-1 and 9-5. With the 1-3-0 week Florida fell to second place in the ECHL's Southeast Division. The Everblades take on the South Carolina Stingrays in Charleston on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. The Everblades then return home to TECO Arena to take on the Stingrays in a pair of weekend games on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM. All 72 regular season games can be heard on Sportsradio 770 AM and on the Internet at www.floridaeverblades.com with the "Voice of the Everblades" Mark Miller calling the play-by-play. 'The Gerry Fleming Coaches Show' presented by Stevie Tomato's Sportspage on Sportsradio 770 AM airs on 770 AM from 6:30 - 7:30 PM on Monday nights. The show will be live on remote in Naples for the next five shows.
UPCOMING EVENTS/PROMOTIONS AT TECO ARENA: On Friday, January 17th and Saturday, January 18th the Everblades face off at TECO Arena against the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:30 PM. TECO Arena hosts the 2003 Compuware ECHL Skills Competition and All-Star game on Monday, January 20th and Tuesday, January 21st at 7:30 PM. GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Stingrays will meet for the fifth time this season. Florida holds a 3-0-1 record against them this season and a 1-0-1 record at TECO. South Carolina currently ranks tied for 3rd place in the Southeast Division standings while Florida ranks in 2nd place in the Southeast. Florida holds a 21-6-5 record all-time against the Stingrays and a 11-2-4 record at TECO Arena. Forward Curtis Huppe leads the team in scoring with 16-25-41. The Stingrays power play ranks 9th in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 12th. The Everblades rank 23rd on the power play and 15th on the penalty kill.

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
Tuesday, January 7th vs. Pensacola 10-5 W The Florida Everblades (20-7-8) set a franchise record for goals scored in a game after they defeated the Pensacola Ice Pilots (18-14-4) 10-5 in front of a crowd of 5,651 at TECO Arena on Tuesday night.
Friday, January 10th @ Pee Dee 3-7 L Pee Dee scored four unanswered goals in the second period to lift the Pride to a 7-3 victory over the Florida Everblades.
Saturday, January 11th @ Augusta 1-5 L
Brad Ralph scored two goals and assisted on two others as the Augusta Lynx defeated the Florida Everblades 5-1.
Sunday, January 12th @ Augusta 5-9 L
The Augusta Lynx scored six second period goals in route to a 9-5 victory.

ECHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL player of the week nomination is forward Joe Blaznek. The Allen Park, Michigan native registered four goals and three assists this past week. Blaznek netted his second hat trick of the year in the Blades 10-5 win on Tuesday night.
ECHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL goaltender of the week nomination is Rob Zepp. The Newmarket, Ontario native was 1-2-0 this past week.
