Florida Panthers Acquire C Ryan Martindale from Edmonton

SUNRISE, Fla . - Florida Panthers Executive VP & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has acquired C Ryan Martindale from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for C Steve Pinizzotto.

Martindale, 22, has played in 22 games for the Oklahoma City Barons this season, posting 10 points (3-7-10) and 8 PIM. The Oshawa, Ont native has played in 79 games over three professional seasons in the AHL, all with Oklahoma City (2011-2014), recording 26 points (9-17-26) and 22 PIM. He has also played in 39 games with Stockton of the ECHL, posting 17 points (8-9-17) over that span.

The 6-foot-3, 207-lb center was drafted in the third round (61st overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers. Martindale recorded 207 points (85-122-207) in 243 games over four seasons with Ottawa (2007-2011) in the Ontario Hockey League.
