Coyotes Assign Klesla to Portland

January 17, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Portland Pirates News Release


GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned defenseman Rostislav Klesla to the Portland Pirates, the club's American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 31-year-old Klesla has recorded 1-3-4 with 24 penalty minutes (PIM) in 25 games with the Coyotes this season. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Novy Jicin, Czech Republic native has registered 48-111-159 with 620 PIM in 659 career NHL games.

Klesla was originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first round (fourth overall) in the 2000 Entry Draft.
