2017 Spring Training Golf Classic

Bradenton, Fla. - The 10th annual Pirates Charities Spring Training Golf Classic, presented by TLI Sports, will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the River Wilderness Golf and Country Club in Parrish, Florida. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a round of golf with a Pirates celebrity while supporting the efforts of Pirates Charities in Manatee County. Celebrities include current and former Pirates players, coaches, executives, and broadcasters.

Registration is now open for foursomes to play in the tournament. Each foursome will be paired with a Pirates celebrity. Opportunities to win great prizes will occur throughout the round. Lunch prior to teeing off and a post-event awards dinner will be provided at the event. Each foursome will receive a commemorative gift and a photograph of their foursome. The cost for a foursome is $1,400. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

The Pirates are welcomed by the City of Bradenton and Manatee County each year for Spring Training. In turn, Pirates Charities gives back in Manatee County in a number of ways, including:

* The Fields for Kids program, which provides matching grants to youth sports organizations and recreation centers to make improvements to their facilities. Pirates Charities has a made a total of 38 grants in Manatee County since the program began in 2011. * The "Adopt-a-School" program in Bradenton and Manatee County, where Pirates Charities works with Manatee Education Foundation and The Mosaic Company to distribute books, supplies and educational programs to elementary schools in the region. Six schools benefited from this program in 2016. * Support of the Bradenton RBI program by donating uniforms, equipment and even transportation to the RBI Regional Tournament.
