Greensboro, NC -- The Greensboro Generals handed the Cincinnati Cyclones their second consecutive loss with a 4-3 win on Monday night in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The Generals opened the scoring at 14:15 of the first period when Jay Murphy collected his 16th goal of the season following a defensive miscue behind the Cincinnati net.
In the second period, Greensboro added goals from Mark Turner, Rod Aldoff, and Kurt Drummond to open a 4-0 lead after two periods of play.
Cincinnati rallied with three goals in the third period, but ran out of time.. Paul Strand had the first, while captain Nick Bootland added a pair of goals, including one with 37.3 seconds left in regulation that brought the Cyclones within one.
The Cyclones return home to face the Lexington Men O' War on Wednesday at 7:05 PM.
