
Men O\' War Take Third in Northwest

Lexington, KY-The Men O' War finished the with a one point lead over the Cincinnati Cyclones for third place in the ECHL's Northwest Division.
Lexington will gear up to butt heads with the Clones this Wednesday at U.S Bank Arena. The Men will close out the weekend with home games on Friday and Sunday. Both games will be against the Southern Conferences' Arkansas Riverblades. Lexington started the week on the road falling in Richmond 2-0 on this past Wednesday night. Thursday night Lexington fell 4-3 in a shootout at Pee Dee. The returned home Friday to edge the Johnstown Chiefs 2-1 in overtime.

Richmond,VA- The trading deadline passed at 3:00 on Wednesday with the Men O' War roster not changing a bit. With the trade tension alleviated, Richmond shutout the Lexington Men O' war 2-0 on Wednesday night. Marc Magliarditi made 25 saves as Lexington was shutout for only the fifth time this season.
Jon Zion scored the game- winning goal just 6:35 into the third period. Dan Murphy took the loss topping 22 of 24 renegade shots.
Friday, February 27th-Lexington 3 at Pee Dee 4 SO
The Men suffered a 4-3 shootout loss at the Southeast Division's Pee Dee Pride Thursday night. The Pride came back from two goals down to beat the Men in a shootout. Goaltender Dan Murphy took the loss stopping 25 shots in his 10th consecutive start. The Men head back home wrapping up three games in three nights with the fifth place Johnstown Chiefs. Lexington will head to Rupp winless in their last three games at 0-2-1. Pee Dee's Preston Mizzi led the charge with a goal and an assist, while adding another tally in the shootout.

The Lexington Men O' War picked up their most dramatic win of the season when Alex Mathieu backhanded a breakaway goal past Johnstown's Peter Aubry with 1:28 left in overtime for a 2-1 Lexington win. Van Burgess scored Lexington's only goal in regulation and Dan Murphy stopped 15 shots for the Men's league high sixth straight win at home. The win pushed the Men's lead to 11 points over the Chiefs for the final playoff spot in the Northwest Division
UPCOMING GAMES ......
The Men O' War journey to Cincinnati this week for a Wednesday match-up with the Cincinnati Cyclones. Lexington is 2-3-1 in six games this season against the Cyclones. Lexington is 0-2-1 in three games at U.S. Bank Arena. Matt Noga and Ryan Gaucher each have eight points in six games against the MOW.
Van Burgess leads Lexington with seven points in six games against Cincinnati. The Men will welcome back the Arkansas Riverblades for two games this weekend. Lexington won the only other meeting of the season 2-1 at Rupp Arena in November.

The lead the league with the fewest short-handed goals against by allowing only four short-handed goals this season...Van Burgess and Ben Storey each have recorded five points in their last five games. Storey is 13th overall among defensemen in the league with 37 points in 50 games. Teammate Joe Vandermeer is 12th with 38 points in 55 games. Storey first among D-men with 217 shots. Friday night's win at Rupp marked the second straight game Lexington won in overtime and a season high sixth straight win at home for the Men.
