Johnstown Chiefs News Release
The Johnstown Chiefs (23-29-9; 55 PTS; 5th NW div.) picked up five of six points last week as they went 2-0-1. The Chiefs gained some ground in their quest for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Northwest division. The Chiefs trail fourth place Cincinnati by seven points and third place Lexington by eight points. Lexington has one game in hand on the Chiefs, Cincinnati has seven. The Chiefs will play two games this week. Saturday night they are at Reading, and Sunday afternoon they host the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies.
GAME #59 (2/28/03) LEXINGTON 2 â Johnstown 1 Aubry 32 Saves
Alex Mathieu's goal 3:32 into overtime gave the Lexington Men O'War a 2-1 win Friday night at Rupp Arena. Dominic Forget scored the lone Chiefs goal. Peter Aubry made 32 saves in the game.
GAME #60 (3/1/03) JOHNSTOWN 3 â Wheeling 2 Tarabrin Goal, Two Assists
Dmitri Tarabrin figured in all three Johnstown goals with a goal and two assists as the Chiefs snapped a four game winless skid with a 3-2 win at home over the Wheeling Nailers. Steve Hildenbrand and Dominic Forget also scored for the Chiefs. Peter Aubry made 25 saves in the contest.
GAME #61 (3/2/03) JOHNSTOWN 4 â Dayton 2 Mather Goal, Assist
The Johnstown Chiefs picked up their second win a row, as they defeated the visiting Dayton Bombers 4-2, Sunday afternoon at the War Memorial. Jeff Sullivan, Sam St. Pierre, Shawn Mather, and Steve Hildenbrand all scored for the Chiefs. Tim Branham added two assists. Jamie Ling and Fred Slukynsky scored for the Bombers. Chiefs goaltender Peter Aubry picked up his 18th win of the season making 12 saves. Dayton goaltender Shane Bendera made 24 saves in the contest.

Saturday night the Chiefs will travel across the state when they take on the Reading Royals (29-27-4; 62 PTS, 7th NE div.). The Chiefs are 1-3-0 against the Royals this season. The Royals have lost three straight games and are 5-4-1 in their last ten. Despite a winning record, the Royals are on pace to miss the playoffs for the second straight year.

The Chiefs and the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies (34-13-12; 80 PTS, 1st NE div.) face-off for the third time this season. The Chiefs are 0-1-1 against the Bullies this season. Both games were played at Boardwalk Hall. The Bullies have outscored the Chiefs 11-6. The Bullies hold the top spot in the Northeast division and are 5-3-2 in their last ten games.
CHIEFS NOTES:
- Jeff Sullivan moved past Perry Florio on the Chiefs all-time PIM list. Sullivan is now second with 806 PIM in 206 games.
- The Chiefs are 10-11-5 since January 1st.
- Johnstown is 6-7-3 against Northeast division opponents.
- The Chiefs are being out scored 75-52 in the 2nd period.
