Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors will try to nudge themselves back into second place with a home game on Tuesday night at Centennial Garden. Game time is 7:00pm.
The Condors are celebrating Fat Tuesday handing out Condors Mardi Gras beads to the first 1,000 fans through the turnstiles, sponsored by FOX 98.5 and The Prime Cut.
Tuesday's game is also the final Student ID Night of the season, presented by WB 12 and KISS 96.5. All college and high school students can purchase tickets in the lower level for just $1, based on availability. They must present their official school identification to the Garden box office at the time of purchase.
It's also Blood Drive Night at Centennial Garden, sponsored by KUZZ 107.9. Anyone who donated blood at one of the two Houchin Community Blood Bank locations in Bakersfield during the month of February received a voucher for complimentary admission to this game. At last count, over 500 people had donated blood.
Tuesday night also features the exciting conclusion to a season-long Battle of the Bands, to be held on the Garden Plaza an hour before game time. At 5:30pm, three bands will compete for the title, and the winner will return to the Garden to perform for the fans during an upcoming game. The remaining bands are The Last of Us, Ashes, and Save Face.
"The Condors Coach's Show" will take place live on Wednesday night from the Holiday Inn Select at 801 Truxtun Ave. Normally heard on Thursday night, the show is being moved up a day due to team travel. This week's guests include Jamie Cooke and Beau Fritz, as well as the regular visit from Head Coach Paul Kelly. "The Condors Coach's Show" can be heard live on KGEO AM 1230 from 6:00-7:00pm.
The team heads out on the road for games on Friday and Saturday night in Idaho. Both matches start at 6:05pm (PST). On Friday night, fans can still watch the Condors by tuning in to Time Warner Cable Ch.21 for another "Condors Classic." This week's match features the dramatic overtime victory against San Diego in Game 3 of the 2001-02 Taylor Cup Playoffs.
They return home to Bakersfield for a Sunday game against the Fresno Falcons at 5:00pm. That game is Poster Giveaway Night for everyone in attendance, sponsored by the Spanish Radio Group and the Water Association of Kern County. These large, full-color prints feature Associate Coach Marty Raymond, as well as players Quinn Fair, Jason Jackman, Jason Ralph and Paul Rosebush. After the game there will be a season ticket holder "Skate with the Condors" on the Centennial Garden Ice, with skate rental available for an additional $3.
Individual tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden Box Office, which is open from 10:00am-6:00pm Monday through Saturday, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden.
