Garner stopped 10 attempts in the first period, nine in the second and 10 in the third to earn his third shutout of the season. Bes set up the first goal of the game scored by Eric Fortier 9:16 into the first, tallied his 17th marker with 52 seconds left in the second and assisted on a Darryl LaPlante shorthanded goal 5:02 into the third. John McNabb registered two assists for Jackson, which has won only four of its last 11 games. Randy Petruk stopped 27 shots and took the loss for Florida, which has lost only three of its last 11 games.

Bandits 0, COLUMBUS 3 - Carlyle Lewis scored a pair of power-play goals and Matus Kostur recorded 24 saves as the Columbus Cottonmouths beat the Jackson Bandits, 3-0. Lewis, who also had two goals on February 15 against Florida, opened the scoring 9:30 into the first period and gave Columbus a 2-0 lead early in the second. Kostur stopped 15 shots over the final two periods en route to his 14th win and first shutout of the season. Sean McAslan added a goal late in the third period for the Cottonmouths, who snapped their six-game winless skid. Tyrone Garner made 35 saves in the loss for Jackson, which has just three wins over its last 12 games on the road.

Bandits 0, PENSACOLA 3 - Greg Pankewicz scored twice and added an assist and Maxime Gingras made 39 saves as the Pensacola Ice Pilots blanked the Jackson Bandits, 3-0. Pankewicz gave Pensacola an early 2-0 lead at the 13:00 mark of the first period and added his league-leading 37th in the third to close scoring. Gingras recorded his third shutout of the season after stopping 25 shots over the final two periods for the Ice Pilots, who claimed their fifth consecutive win at home. Tyrone Jackson turned away 22 shots for Jackson, which went 0-for-8 on the power play.

BANDITS MATCH-UPS –

Pensacola – The Pensacola Ice Pilots will be looking to thwart the Bandits playoff hopes and help their own crusade, as they host the Bandits on Tuesday, which is a rescheduled game from back on October 25 when the game was called for electrical failures. Pensacola has won six of their last ten, but have won two of their past three. Pensacola is led offensively by Greg Pankewicz (37g-34a) and Louis Dumont (19g-47a), and led defensively by net minder Maxime Gingras (23-17-6, .920 save percentage). The puck drops at 6:05 p.m.

Baton Rouge – The Baton Rouge Kingfish will be hosting the Bandits on Friday, as the Kingfish and Bandits battle for the last playoff berth in the Southwest Division. The Kingfish have lost six of their last ten games, and have a 9-20-2 record at home. The Kingfish are led offensively by newly acquired center Chris Bell (17g-24a) and newly acquired left wing Joe Guenther (13g-25a), and led defensively by goalie Jeff Blair (5-19-1, .890 save percentage). The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

Louisiana – The Louisiana Ice Gators will host the Bandits for the first of five games this month (including the season finale) on Saturday. The Ice Gators recently slipped out of first place in the Southwest Division despite their 20-5-4 home record, one point behind the Mississippi Sea Wolves. The Ice Gators have only won four of their last ten games, and looks to even up the series with Jackson who leads 3-2-2. The Ice Gators are led offensively by Shawn McNeil (33g-43a) and defensively by goalie Kyle Kettles (15-9-0, .914 save percentage). The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

BANDITS BITES -

ROAD TRIP – The Bandits are getting ready to hit the road for their 4th annual road trip away from the Coliseum. Due to numerous events at the Coliseum, the Bandits will have to spend 20 games on the road, taking them a whopping 9,411 miles this year. Even traveling at a smooth 70 mph all the way, it would still take over 134 hours to complete this journey. The longest leg of the trip comes February 7,8, and 9 as the Bandits travel to Florida for two games then to Columbus for one. The Bandits are on the road from Tuesday, January 14th until March 13th, and will not have another home game until March 14th against the Baton Rouge Kingfish.
