Chicago Fire FC Exercises 2021 Contract Option on Mauricio Pineda

July 15, 2020 - CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC announced today that the Club has exercised the 2021 contract option on defender/midfielder Mauricio Pineda. Pineda, 22, is under contact with the Fire through the 2021 season with Club options for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. July 12, 2020 - CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC will play its first two matches in the MLS is Back Tournament this week at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. The Fire will begin play in Group B on Tuesday, July 14 against defending MLS Cup champions Seattle Sounders FC. Scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. CT, the match will be televised nationally on ESPN and ESPN Deportes and transmitted locally in Spanish on TUDN 1200AM. Chicago Fire FC Joins Group B in MLS Is Back Tournament

July 9, 2020 - CHICAGO - Major League Soccer announced today an updated format and schedule for the MLS is Back Tournament and that Nashville SC have been withdrawn from the competition. Chicago Fire FC will join Group B alongside the San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The Fire were previously scheduled to compete in Group A.
