Joe Masonius Named to 2022 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic

SHREWSBURY, N.J. - The ECHL announced today that defenseman Joe Masonius will represent the Adirondack Thunder at the 2022 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic this Monday in Jacksonville, FL.

Masonius joined the Thunder this season after being assigned by the American Hockey League's Utica Comets. The 24-year-old leads all Adirondack defenseman in points this season with 16 (3 goals, 13 assists) in 24 games.

A native of Spring Lake, NJ. Masonius saw ECHL time with South Carolina, Manchester, Greenville, and Norfolk. Masonius was drafted in the sixth round (181st overall) by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 out of the United States National Development Team Program.

Masonius spent three seasons at the University of Connecticut. In 96 games with the Huskies, the 6-foot, 190-pound lefty recorded 50 points (10 goals, 40 assists).

The 2022 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic will air LIVE exclusively on NHL Network© on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. ET from VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, FL. The game will also be streamed live on FloHockey.
