
Grizzlies Extend Unbeaten Streak To Five; Fall In Overtime

West Valley City, Utah - The Fresno Falcons defeated the Utah Grizzlies 4-3 in overtime Wednesday night at the E-Center. Utah extended their unbeaten streak to five games (3-0-0-2) in the contest.
The game went back and forth throughout with neither team leading by more than one goal. Fresno took a 1-0 lead on their first shot of the game 2:16 into the contest. In his first game since being acquired from Bakersfield yesterday, Evan Kotsopoulos tied the game for Utah at one on a power-play goal 11:15 into the period to tie the game.
Fresno struck early in the second period again taking a 2-1 lead 1:52 into the period. Utah answered 13 seconds later as Keith Johnson won the following face-off setting up a Scott Burt (22) goal. Ryan Kinasewich picked up the first assist on the goal. Utah took a 3-2 lead at 7:52 with Kinasewich again feeding Scott Burt (23) off of a Fresno turnover for Utah's only lead. The Falcons tied it at three just before the second intermission.
The two teams went a combined 0-6 on the power-play in the third period as the game went to overtime.
The Grizzlies and Falcons each had a power-play in overtime before Fresno won 3:35 into the frame with a P.O. Beaulieu goal.
Mike Mole (18-10-0-5) stopped 27 of 31 shot in the game in his first contest back from Bridgeport capping off nearly a 24-hour travel day for the goaltender.
The Grizzlies return to the E-Center Friday at 7:05 p.m. to host Fresno again. The two teams will complete their three-game series Sunday at the E-Center at 4:05 p.m.
