Idaho's Lammers Named CCM TACKS Player Of The Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - John Lammers of the Idaho Steelheads is the CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month for February.

Drafted in the third round (86th overall) by Dallas in the 2004 National Hockey League Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Stars, Lammers led the league in February with 14 goals and eight power-play goals and was third with 23 points to help the defending Kelly Cup champions go 8-4-2 and clinch a berth in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

After having a goal and an assist in a 3-2 loss at Phoenix on Feb. 1, Lammers scored his first professional hat trick in a 3-2 win at Alaska on Feb. 8, beginning a six-game goal streak (10g). He added a pair of power-play goals in a 3-1 win at Alaska on Feb. 9 and two goals in a 6-0 win against Phoenix on Feb. 16.

The 5-foot-11 and 190-pound left wing scored in each of his first 10 games in February to extend his point streak to 11 games (13g-8a). During the streak he had two, three-game multi-point streaks scoring seven points (6g-1a) from Feb. 8-10 and seven points (3g-4a) from Feb. 15-18.

He is second on the Steelheads with 22 goals and 11 power-play goals and is sixth on the team with 34 points in 24 games. He has also played in the American Hockey League appearing in one game for Iowa.

In his rookie season in 2006-07, the 22 year old had four points (2g-2a) and four penalty minutes in nine regular season games and tied for sixth in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with 19 points (7g-12a) in 22 games to help Idaho win the championship. He also played in the American Hockey League where he had 14 points (6g-8a) and 14 penalty minutes in 52 games for Iowa.

Lammers played five seasons in the Western Hockey League where he had 199 points (93g-106a) and 110 penalty minutes in 256 regular season games with Lethbridge and Everett.

Runners Up: Jeff Campbell, Gwinnett (13 gp, 8g, 16a, 24 pts) and Chris Chaput, South Carolina (14 gp, 8g, 13a, 21 pts).
