Cyclones Acquire Defenseman Jeremy Swanson

CINCINNATI - With the ECHL trade deadline approaching on Wednesday afternoon, the Cincinnati Cyclones made a trade with the Columbia Inferno to acquire defenseman Jeremy Swanson, who was acquired earlier in the day from the Wheeling Nailers. The Cyclones sent defenseman A.J. Bozoian and forward Travis Fuller to Columbia to complete the deal.

Swanson, 25, is in his fourth season, having spent the year so far in Wheeling. With the Nailers, Jeremy turned in a goal and five assists for six points in 55 games. He also amassed 42 penalty minutes. In 188 games as a professional, he has four goals and 22 assists for 26 points and 249 penalty minutes.

Swanson was a sixth round draft choice of the Florida Panthers (no. 169 overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He played his junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) between Sault Ste. Marie and Barrie, appearing in 255 games, collecting 22 goals and 82 assists for 114 points and 387 penalty minutes.

"Jeremy Swanson is a solid veteran," Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. "He has tremendous upside and can help our defense out as we close in on the playoffs. We wish A.J. Bozoian and Travis Fuller the best. They helped us get to where we are right now."

The Cyclones return to action on Friday night with a 7:30pm tilt with Reading at U.S. Bank Arena. Tickets will be available at the door.
