Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Johnstown, PA - The Johnstown Chiefs announced today that defenseman Mike Knight was called up by the Rockford Icehogs of the American Hockey League.

Knight currently leads Johnstown defenseman with six goals in 43 games played, and is tied with Andrew Martens for the most points among Chiefs defenders with 26.

A fourth-year professional, Knight is making his second tour of duty in the AHL this season. In four games with the Binghamton Senators from November 28 to December 7 Knight was a plus-three, but did not register a point.

The Chiefs are 23-16-4 with Knight in the lineup this season, and are in the midst of a season-high four game winning streak with a pair of home games on tap this weekend.

The Chiefs play at home again on Friday, March 7, for the Chiefs' Keychain Giveaway sponsored by Mazzei and Associates to the first 1,000 fans. If you can't make it that night, don't miss "Casino Night" on Saturday, March 8 against the Elmira Jackals. That night, you could go home with two free airline tickets! Great seats are still available for both games at the UPMC Health Plan Ice Rink at the Cambria County War Memorial. Call 536-5156, or visit www.johnstownchiefs.com to get yours today!
