Checkers Unveil Heroes Game Jerseys Uptown

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Checkers will unveil the new Salute to Heroes game jerseys on the corner of Trade and Tryon in Uptown Charlotte during a festival on Friday, March 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

During the event, the Charlotte Fire Department pipes and drums will play a concert from 11:45 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Also on hand will be the Checkers official Zamboni and the Time Warner Cable Hands Helping Heroes Truck. Members from the Charlotte Fire Department, Mecklenburg EMS Agency, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office will all be at the corner.

The event is a precursor to the 3rd Annual Salute to Heroes Night on Saturday, March 8 presented by Pita Pit and Time Warner Cable.

The Checkers are in their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL. The next home game takes place on March 6 the Dayton Bombers. In the team's 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three consecutive playoff appearances to date. The Checkers are in their third season of play at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting at just $175.
