
Fresno Falcons And Fuego Welcome Brigadier General Mann To Empty Bowls Thursday

Fresno, Ca..The Fresno Falcons professional hockey team, a proud member of the ECHL, and the Fresno Fuego Soccer Club, the defending Western Conference Champions of the Premier Development League, proudly welcome special guest U.S. Army Brigadier General David L. Mann, Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Recruiting Command to Thursday's Community Food Bank Empty Bowls Fundraiser at Valdez Hall. General Mann will assist Fuego Coach Scott Alcorn with the unveiling of the new Fresno Fuego logo.
Brigadier General David L. Mann assumed the duties of the Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Recruiting Command on October 1, 2007, after serving as the Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Defense Artillery Center at Fort Bliss, Texas. He was commissioned through the ROTC program at Gettysburg College, Pennsylvania upon graduation from Millersville University in 1981. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management from George Washington University and a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. Empty Bowls is the annual fundraiser to support the Community Food Bank which is currently serving more than 50,000 Central Valley residents per week. This year's Empty Bowls event features delicious soups created "Iron Chef Style" by students from the Institute of Technology. Empty Bowls guests and local celebrity judges will vote for their favorite soups, enjoy local entertainment, and take home a hand-crafted bowl made by community members from across the Central Valley. Silent Auction items featuring Fresno Falcons and Fresno Fuego merchandise and ticket packages will also be available at this event. The Fresno Falcons are on the road battling the Utah Grizzlies in a three game series starting tonight. The Falcons return to home ice on Tuesday, March 11 against Idaho at 7PM for a Kids Day Celebration and Jersey Auction to benefit Children's Hospital Central California. The Fresno Fuego will battle Chivas USA in an exhibition match on Sunday, March 16 at Chukchansi Park at 5:00 p.m. This will be the third meeting between the two clubs in the last year. Chivas won the first match, 5-0 last March, and the Fuego shocked the MLS squad 3-1 in their last match-up this past November. Chivas USA will bring its entire squad to Fresno for this game, as a tune-up for the MLS season which begins on March 30. Tickets for Falcons games are on sale at the Save Mart Center and Ticketmaster. Tickets for the March 16 Fuego vs Chivas USA match are on sale at Chukchansi Park.
