Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI - With the ECHL trade deadline approaching on Wednesday afternoon, the Cincinnati Cyclones got an early start on their Kelly Cup run by acquiring goaltender Cody Rudkowsky from the Phoenix Roadrunners in exchange for defenseman Gerard Miller.

Rudkowsky is in his ninth season and has a 133-116-36 mark as a professional. This season with Phoenix, the 29-year old has a 9-23-5 record with a 3.89 goals against average and a .897 save percentage. He has one shutout on the year, stopping 47 shots in a 4-0 win at Bakersfield on Jan. 8. He is second in the ECHL in saves with 1051.

Cody has one game of NHL experience, winning a game for the St. Louis Blues during the 2002-03 season. He has played in 109 American Hockey League games in his career.

"Cody Rudkowsky is an established ECHL goaltender," Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. "We want to be deep at every position and not knowing how our affiliates will help us at this position, we wanted to be pro-active. In order to get quality, you have to spend quality and we wish Gerard Miller the best in the future."

The Cyclones return to action on Friday night with a 7:30pm tilt with Reading at U.S. Bank Arena. Tickets will be available at the door.

Tickets for all Cyclones games can be purchased at the U.S. Bank Arena box office, all Ticketmaster outlets including select Kroger stores, charge by phone at 513-562-4949 or online at ticketmaster.com.
