Painchaud Assigned to Gwinnett from AHL Chicago

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Chad Painchaud has been assigned to Gwinnett from the Chicago Wolves by the Atlanta Thrashers.

Painchaud has played 17 games for the Wolves this season notching 2 assists and compiling 11 penalty minutes.

The Mississauga, Ontario native played 2 games with Gwinnett earlier in the season, notching a goal and 2 penalty minutes. Painchaud was in Gwinnett for games on November 9th and 10th.

Painchaud, 6-foot-1 and 184 pounds, played his rookie season in Gwinnett in 2006-07. In 72 regular season games with the Gladiators, Painchaud tallied 22 goals and 32 assists. He also added 5 assists in 4 playoff games during the 2007 postseason.

Painchaud will be available for the Gladiators as they travel to Columbia on Thursday to take on the Inferno.

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that has 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals. The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5.
