Florida Nets Three of Four Points This Past Week

The Florida Everblades captured three out of a possible four points this week after they upended the Augusta Lynx 5-1 on Friday night and fell in a shootout 2-1 on Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd at TECO Arena. The Everblades hit the road this week and play four games in five nights. The road trip begins this Tuesday in Columbus, Florida then heads to Greenville on Thursday, Charlotte on Friday and Greensboro on Saturday. All 72 regular season games can be heard on Sportsradio 770 AM, NewsRadio 1660 AM and on the Internet at www.floridaeverblades.com with the "Voice of the Everblades" Mark Miller calling the play-by-play. Since the team is traveling today 'The Gerry Fleming Coaches Show' presented by Stevie Tomato's Sportspage will not air on 770 AM tonight. The show will return next Monday at 6:30 PM.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Cottonmouths will meet for the fourth time this season. The Everblades are 0-1-2 versus Columbus this year and 0-0-1 in Columbus. Columbus currently ranks 4th in the Southeast Division standings while Florida ranks in 5th place. Florida holds a 5-3-3 record all-time against the Cottonmouths and a 2-2-1 record in Columbus. Cottonmouths forward Jeff Zehr leads Cottonmouths in scoring with 10-12-22 in 15 games played. Florida goaltender Rob Zepp is currently ranked first in the ECHL in goals against average with 1.88. The Cottonmouths power play ranks 1st in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 21st . The Everblades power play currently ranks 21st in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 8th.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Grrrowl will meet for the first time this season. Greenville currently ranks 6th in the Southeast Division standings while Florida ranks in 5th place. Florida holds a 17-11-0 record all-time against the Grrrowl and a 9-6-1 record in Greenville. Greenville forward Mikko Sivonen leads the team in scoring with 8-8-16 in 15 games played. The Grrrowl power play currently ranks 16th in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 24th.

Friday, November 22nd @ Charlotte 7:30 PM/EST

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Checkers will meet for the first time this season. Charlotte currently ranks 7th in the Northeast Division standings while Florida ranks in 5th place in the Southeast. Florida holds a 8-3-0 record all-time against the Checkers and a 5-3-0 record in Charlotte. Forward Takahito Suzuki leads the team in scoring with 8-5-13 in 13 games played. The Checkers power play currently ranks 15th in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 5th.

Saturday, November 23rd @ Greensboro 7:30 PM/EST

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Generals will meet for the first time this season. Greensboro currently ranks 3rd in the Northeast Division standings while Florida ranks in 5th place in the Southeast. Florida holds a 0-1-0 record all-time against the Generals and a 0-0-0 record in Greensboro. Forward Pete Gardiner currently leads the team in scoring with 9-9-18 in 15 games played. The Generals power play currently ranks 3rd in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 17th.

Friday, November 15th vs. Augusta 5-1 W

The Florida Everblades (5-4-4) defeated the Augusta Lynx (4-9-0) 5-1 in front of 5,636 at TECO Arena on Friday night. Florida forwards Ryan Murphy and Joe Blaznek each had two goals and Rob Zepp stopped 29 of 30 shots and picked up his fifth win of the season

Saturday, November 16th vs. Augusta 1-2 SOL

The Florida Everblades (5-4-5) were defeated by the Augusta Lynx (5-9-0) 2-1 in a shootout in front of sold out crowd of 7,181 at TECO Arena on Saturday night. Forward Lance Galbraith scored the final goal in the shootout to give the Lynx the win.

ECHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL player of the week nomination is forward Joe Blaznek. The Allen Park, Michigan native registered two goals in the Everblades 5-1 win on Friday night including the game winning goal. For his efforts on Friday night he was awarded the first star of the game.

ECHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL goaltender of the week nomination is Rob Zepp. The Newmarket, Ontario native was 1-0-1 this past week. On Saturday night he earned the second star of the game after stopping 41 of 42 shots on goal. Zepp is currently ranked first in the ECHL in goals against average with 1.88.

EVERBLADES IN THE COMMUNITY: On Monday, November 18th Swampee will be at the Hess Express gas station on Six Mile Cypress Road from 12-2 PM. On Monday, November 25th two players will be reading to students at Golden Gate Elementary at 1 PM and two players will speak to students at Villas Elementary at 12 PM. On Tuesday, November 26th two players and Swampee will speak at an assembly at Orangewood Elementary at 12:30 PM.
