Royals Drop Three Straight This Week

The Reading Royals dropped three straight games to tie a season high three-game slide. Friday night, the Royals lost a close 7-6 regulation decision to the first place Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Saturday, the Royals took to the road and were defeated by the surging Richmond Renegades 7-2. The loss was the largest margin of defeat this season. Sunday afternoon, Reading lost a close battle to the Trenton Titans 3-1 in Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton.

This week, the Royals travel to Atlantic City on Tuesday night for the fourth meeting against the Bullies. Friday and Saturday the Royals return home to the Jungle to battle the South Carolina Stingrays. The two games mark the first two against a Southern Conference opponent this season.

Tuesday, November 19 @ Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies 7:35PM

GAME NOTES: This is the fourth meeting between these two Northeast Division combatants. The Royals lone win against Atlantic City came in Boardwalk Hall. Royals captain Mat Snesrud got the game winner in the shooutout. Royals Goaltender Scott Fankhouser stopped 38 shots in regulation and overtime and four of five shooters in the shootout. Reading is 1-2-0 against Atlantic City this season.

Friday, November 22 vs. South Carolina Sovereign Center 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: This is the second meeting ever between Reading and South Carolina. The Stingrays beat the Royals in South Carolina last season 4-3 in a shootout. The Stingrays are currently in first place in the Southeast Division. They are a perfect 5-0-0 on the road this season.

Saturday, November 23 vs. South Carolina Sovereign Center 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: This is the second of back-to-back meetings between these two teams. The Royals are led by Brian McCullough who has 13 goals and 26 points, while South Carolina is led by Adam Calder who has seven goals and 18 points this season.

GAME NOTES: The Boardwalk Bullies held on to beat the Royals Friday night in Reading 7-6. Reading dropped their second straight decision to the Bullies in Reading to fall to 1-2-0 against the Bullies. Royals rookies Jeff Giuliano and Antoine Bergeron each chipped in three assists in the loss.

Saturday, November 16 @ Richmond Richmond Coliseum 7:35PM

GAME NOTES: Costly penalties and a hot Richmond Renegades team did in the Royals Saturday in Richmond 7-2. David Brousseau scored a hat trick and an assist to lead the Renegades attack. Richmond converted on four power play tallies out of ten opportunities. Reading is now 0-1-1 against Richmond this season.

Sunday, November 17 @ Trenton Sovereign Bank Arena 2:00PM

GAME NOTES: The Royals two game winning streak against Trenton came to an end Sunday in Trenton as the Titans beat Reading 3-1. Alex Kim accounted for the only Royals goal on the power play. Reading is now 2-4-0 against Trenton. The Royals and Titans will not meet for nearly three months on February 16, 2003.

#18 Forward – Jeff Giuliano 3GP – 1g, 3a 4pts/ -3 Scored first ECHL goal on power play on 11/16 Jeff Giuliano scored his first ECHL goal on Saturday in a 7-2 loss. Giuliano chipped in three assists in a loss on Friday night. Currently, the rookie out of New Hampshire, ranks first among rookies in assists (14) and is tied for fifth in scoring (15).

The Royals had a rough week as a team. After a tough night on Saturday in Richmond, Sanger rebounded and stopped 33 of 35 shots to give the Royals a chance to win Sunday afternoon in Trenton. Sanger has started the last two games for the Reading.
