WEEKLY SUMMARY:

The Johnstown Chiefs (7-8-1; 15 PTS NW div.) had their most productive week since the first week of the season, as they went 2-1-0. The Chiefs fell last Wednesday night at Cincinnati, before beating Toledo at home on Friday night, and defeating Lexington on the road Saturday night. The Chiefs are now tied for third place in the Northwest division with the Wheeling Nailers. The Chiefs have another busy week as they play three games in three nights, with a pair of games against the Peoria Rivermen at home Friday and Saturday, before traveling to Dayton Sunday night.

GAME #14 (11/13/02) CINCINNATI 5 – Johnstown 1 Roy Only Goal

Despite out shooting (35-33) the Cincinnati Cyclones the Chiefs suffered their worst loss of the season on Wednesday night. The Chiefs went 1 for 10 on the power play in the game. Phil Roy scored the lone goal for the Chiefs in the contest. Dany Dallaire started the game making 12 saves and allowing three goals. Mark Scally came in relief of Dallaire allowing two goals and making 16 saves over the final 39 minutes.

GAME #15 (11/15/02) JOHNSTOWN 5 – Toledo 4 Forget Two Goals

The Chiefs scored two third period goals to defeat the first place Toledo Storm, 5-4 Friday nig ht at the War Memorial. Phil Roy scored in his second straight game for the Chiefs while Dominic Forget had two goals. Lukas Smital and Brent Bilodeau also tallied for the Chiefs. Mark Scally got the win in net making 27 saves. All four Toledo goals came on the power play. The Chiefs were 2 for 5 on the man advantage.

GAME #16 (11/16/02) Johnstown 3 – LEXINGTON 1 Scally 27 Saves

Vladimir Nemec, Dominic Forget, and J.F. Boutin all scored for the Chiefs as they picked up their second straight win, 3-1 at Lexington. Mark Scally picked up his second win in as many nights making 27 saves in the contest. The Chiefs were perfect in special teams as they went 1 for 1 on the power play and 2 for 2 on the penalty kill.

The Chiefs and the Peoria Rivermen (8-4-2, 15 PTS; 2nd NW div.) meet for a pair of games this Friday and Saturday night at the War Memorial. The Chiefs are 1-1-0 vs. the Rivermen this season. The teams spilt a pair of games last month at Carver Arena. The Chiefs defeated Peoria 1-0 in a shootout. The Rivermen are 5-3-2 in their last ten games. The Rivermen have scored an ECHL high, six shorthanded goals this season.

The Chiefs and the Dayton Bombers meet for the fourth time this season Sunday night at the Nutter Center. The Chiefs are 3-0-0 against the Bombers this season with two of those wins at Dayton. The Chiefs have out scored the Bombers 15-6 in three games this season. The Bombers are currently in fifth place in the Northwest division, trailing the Chiefs and Wheeling by one point. Dayton is 5-3-2 in their last ten games.

CHIEFS NOTES:

- Friday night's crowd of 3,042 was a season high for the Chiefs. It was their first 3,000+ crowd since (26 reg. season games) 12/31/01 vs. Dayton (3,000).

- Lukas Smital has two goals and five assists (7 PTS) in his last four games.

- Phil Roy is tied for second amongst defenseman in the ECHL with 6 goals.

- Six of the Chiefs seven wins have come when Jeff Sullivan (6-4-0 w/Sullivan) is in the lineup. Sullivan has missed six games this season due to recall to Saint John (AHL).
