Storm Announce New Television Deal
January 24, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Toledo Walleye News Release
(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today a new agreement with Buckeye Cable Sports Network (BCSN) to telecast the remaining 19 Toledo Storm home games. All games will be shown live. Any exceptions will be noted prior to broadcast.
Mike Miller, Vice President and General Manager of the Storm, said of the agreement, "BCSN has been a great addition to the local sports community since its inception last January. We are very pleased with their continued support and involvement with the Toledo Storm."
Buckeye Cable Sports Network has been covering Toledo sports since January of 2004. Since it's inception BCSN has covered six Toledo Storm hockey games with four already aired this season. This package started with Saturday's epic doubleheader featuring the 74-75 Turner Cup Champion Toledo Goaldiggers against the Detroit Alumni, which was followed by the Storm against Dayton. Those games marked the first time that any of the contests were shown live. In addition to the Storm games, BCSN will also telecast the 2005 ECHL All-Star game live from Reading on Wednesday, January 26th. Toledo's February 2nd game against San Diego will be shown on a tape-delay basis.
Nancy Duwve, Director and General Manager of BCSN, said, "We are very excited about televising Toledo Storm hockey. There is a rich tradition of hockey in Toledo, and we are proud to now be a part of that history."
The next Toledo Storm home game is this Friday night against the Reading Royals. Toledo Hockey...A History of Champions!
