Brust is Third Royal Named to All-Star Squad

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that goaltender Barry Brust has been named as a replacement to the ECHL National Conference All-Star team. Brust replaces Dany Sabourin of Wheeling, who is currently on call-up to the American Hockey League's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

The Royals rookie goaltender, currently under contract with the Los Angeles Kings, leads the Royals in wins with 13. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound goaltender has appeared in 21 games and has posted a 13-5-2 record. He ranks sixth in the ECHL with a 2.22 goals against average and has posted a .920 save percentage. The Swan River, Manitoba native recorded his first and the team's first win of the season in shutout fashion stopping 16 shots (5-0 win @ Wheeling – 11/7/04). Brust won five straight starts (11/7 – 11/26/04) and was unbeaten in eight straight (7-0-1) road games (11/7 – 12/31/04). He played major junior hockey in the Western Hockey League with Spokane and Calgary from 2000-2004. In those four seasons, he appeared in two WHL All-Star games and complied a career record of 76-79-20 with a 2.89 goals against average. Brust joins Royals teammates Jon Francisco (replaced teammate Jeff Miles) and Ryan Kinasewich as a 2004 ECHL All Star.

The Royals and the City of Reading are proud to be hosting the 13th annual ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition presented by Coors Light on January 25 and 26. The ECHL Skills Competition will begin at 7:05 p.m. ET on Tuesday and feature Ryan Kinasewich in the Puck Control Relay, Jon Francisco in the Accuracy Shooting and both Kinasewich and Francisco in the Breakaway Relay. Goaltender Barry Brust will vie for the top goaltender in the ECHL Skills Competition as computed by goaltenders' combined scores in the rapid fire and breakaway competition
