In the Pros: Rookie forward Colin Stuart tallied his first professional goal with 12 seconds remaining in the third period in Friday's 4-3 shootout win over the Everblades. Stuart picked up his first professional point, an assist, in his first game with the Gladiators on January 14th against South Carolina.

Another First: Alex Sawruk scored is first professional goal in the Gladiators 4-2 win over the Texas Wildcatters on Monday. The rookie recorded his first professional point, an assist, in the Gladiators 5-4 win at Augusta on January 7th. Sawruk has tallied 1 goal and 2 assists for 3 points this year for the Gladiators.

Picking Up a Pair: Gladiators forward Kris Goodjohn netted his 9th and 10th goals of the season in the Gladiators 4-3 shootout win over Florida on Friday night. For Goodjohn, it was his 2nd multiple goal game of the season and his 9th multiple point night of the year. Goodjohn continues to lead the Gladiators in points this season with 38 off of 10 goals and 28 assists.

Stymied in the Shootout: Netminder Sean Fields turned aside all 5 Everblades shooters in the shootout in Friday's 4-3 win over the Everblades. It was the second shootout that Fields appeared in for the Gladiators this season. He turned aside all 4 shooters in his only other appearance, a 5-4 win over Augusta on January 7th and has not let in a shootout goal this season.

Lighting the Lamp: Rookie forward Jeff Campbell continues to lead the Gladiators in goals scored as he tallied his 17th goal of the season in Saturday's 5-3 loss at Florida. Campbell shares third among rookies in the ECHL in goals scored and is among the top 5 in rookie scoring.

A Career High! Mike Vigilante tallied his 15th goal of the season in last Monday's 4-2 win over the Texas Wildcatters. With the goal, Vigilante ties his career high for goals in a season. The Dearborn, Michigan native set his career high recording 15 goals during his rookie campaign in the 2001-02 season with the Mobile Mysticks.

January 17th, Gladiators 4, Texas 2 – W

Mike Vigilante tied a career high for goals in a season with his 15th of the year, 13 seconds into the game and Chris Durno recorded the game winner midway through the second period in the win. Alex Sawruk scored his first professional goal in the final stanza. Simon Lajeunessse made 19 saves to pick up his first win with Gwinnett. Kris Goodjohn scored the Gladiators other goal and also chipped in an assist while Jeff Campbell posted two helpers in the victory.

January 21st, Gladiators 4, Florida 3 – SOW

Kris Goodjohn tallied two first period goals for the Gladiators while Chris Durno picked up two assists for Gwinnett as the Gladiators improve to 16-0-0 on the season when leading after two periods. Colin Stuart scored his first goal with the Gladiators with just 12 seconds left in the third period to push the game to overtime as the Everblades scored two third period goals to take a 3-2 lead late in the final period. Brad Schell scored the deciding goal in the shootout as Sean Fields turned aside all Florida shooters in the shootout for the win.

January 22nd, Florida 5, Gladiators 3 – L

Florida scored four third period goals to become the first team this season to trail the Gladiators after two periods and come back to win. The Everblades scored the first goal of the game 44 seconds into the first period before Jim Jackson netted Gwinnett's first goal of the game 2:01 into the period. Jeff Campbell gave the Gladiators the lead before the first intermission while Peter Flache extended the Gladiators lead to 3-1 in the second period on a breakaway. Florida rattled off three goals in a little over two minutes, 2:38 into the third period and added an empty net goal to pick up the win.

Wednesday, January 26th, Coors Light ECHL All Star Game – CSS TV

Gladiators Head Coach Jeff Pyle, defenseman Jim Jackson, forwards Jeff Campbell and Brett Engelhardt will represent the Gladiators at the 2005 ECHL All Star Game in Reading, P.A. Pyle will be making his second consecutive trip to the ECHL All Star Game.

Friday, January 28th, vs. Columbia Inferno, 7:35 p.m. – WDUN, News Talk 550

It's High School Football Appreciation Night as the Gladiators honor area high school football programs sponsored by People's Bank and Trust, Coke, Papa Johns, Town Executive Limousine, AJC Gwinnett News and 790 The Zone. It's the third meeting of the season for the Gladiators and the Inferno at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Columbia leads the season series with a 2-1-1 record and won the last meeting 3-2, on Dec. 26th.

Saturday, January 29th, vs. South Carolina Singrays, 7:35 p.m. – wdun.com

The first 1,000 fans through the doors at Saturday's game will receive a Cam Brown Bobble Head Doll courtesy of Clayton Dental, 104.7 The Fish and the Gladiators. South Carolina won the last meeting of the season, 4-3 on January 13th. The Gladiators and Stingrays have each won a game while Gwinnett has outscored South Carolina 11-8 combined in those two starts.
