January 24, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release
BOISE, Idaho - Entering into the 2004-05 ECHL All-Star break, the defending Kelly Cup Champion Idaho Steelheads find themselves struggling. The team that was 5-11-4, 54 points and leading their division by one point last season at this time is hunting for a playoff spot this season with 41 points. At the All-Star break last season, Idaho was 7-1-2 in its last ten with a .679 winning percentage, while this year has gone 4-5-1 with a .526 winning percentage. Of note, after the break last season Idaho played two games in Alaska and dropped both - this year, Idaho also makes a road trip to Aces' ice immediately following the break, but will be looking to fare better in the three-game series.
2004-05 ECHL ALL-STAR GAME
This year's events will feature the National Conference battling the American Conference in both the Skills Competition on January 25th and the All-Star Game on Wednesday, January 26th at the Sovereign Center, home of the Reading Royals.
Idaho Steelheads goaltender Frank Doyle (15-8-2) has been selected by ECHL coaches, players and media representatives to represent the National Conference in the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game as the lone Steelhead. Last season, goaltender Dan Ellis and defenseman David Cornacchia represented Idaho.
The game will be televised live on Wednesday, January 26th locally on Cable One (Channel 17) and by radio broadcast on ESPN Radio KTIK-The Ticket (1350 AM) beginning at 7:05 pm.
