The Johnstown Chiefs (14-13-10; 38 PTS; 6th North div.) had a busy week last week as they went south for four road games in seven days. The Chiefs went 1-2-1 on the trip. Both losses were against the South Carolina Stingrays. They beat the Pee Dee Pride and lost in overtime to the Charlotte Checkers. Due to the ECHL all-star break, this week the Chiefs will play only one game, Sunday afternoon on the road at Atlantic City. Currently the Chiefs are in sixth place in the North division, six points out of a playoff spot.

Game #34 (1/18/05) SOUTH CAROLINA 4 - Johnstown 3 Cavanagh Two Assists

The Chiefs began their seven day, four game road trip Tuesday night in Charleston, SC with a 4-3 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays. The Chiefs trailed 3-0 before Steve Hildenbrand scored on the power play. J.F. Soucy and P.L. Courchesne also scored for the Chiefs. Goaltender David Currie made 19 saves.

Game #35 (1/20/05) CHARLOTTE 2 - Johnstown 1 (OT) Cann 31 Saves

Charlotte's Mike Wirll scored his second goal of the night 1:55 into overtime to lift the Checkers to a 2-1 win over the Chiefs Thursday night at Cricket Arena. Jean Desrochers scored the Chiefs goal. David Cann made 31 saves in the contest. Checkers goaltender Alex Westlund made 24 saves.

Game #36 (1/22/05) Johnstown 4 - PEE DEE 2 Hildenbrand Three Assists

Saturday night the Chiefs snapped their five game (0-4-1) winless streak with a 4-2 win over the Pee Dee Pride in Florence, SC. Shawn Mather had a goal and two assists in the contest. Steve Hildenbrand assisted on three of the goals. Mike James, Jean Desrochers and Chad Cavanagh also scored for the Chiefs. Goaltender David Cann made 47 saves for his 5th win of the season.

Game #37 (1/23/05) SOUTH CAROLINA 4 - Johnstown 2 Cann 26 Saves The Chiefs closed out their southern road trip Sunday afternoon with a 4-2 loss at South Carolina. Defensemen David Bowman and P.L. Courchesne scored the Chiefs goals. David Cann suffered the loss making 26 saves. Joe Tenute had a pair of goals for the Stingrays.

Sunday afternoon the Chiefs will face the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies (21-11-5, 47 PTS; T-1st North div.) for the fourth time this season. The Chiefs are 1-1-1 against the Boardwalk Bullies this season. Atlantic City is currently tied with Reading for first place in the North division. The Bullies have lost two straight games and are 4-5-1 in their last ten games.

CHIEFS NOTES:

- Jean Desrochers will be the Chiefs lone all-star game representative this week. Brent Kelly was scheduled to start in the game, however is still on recall to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

- Desrochers leads all ECHL rookies with four game winning goals.

- The Chiefs are 2-4-3 in games outside the North division this season. They have one out of division game left (2/5/05 vs. San Diego).
