Wednesday at Wheeling, (4-1 W)

Canonsburg, PA – The Dayton Bombers beat the Wheeling Nailers 4-1 in front of 833 at the Icoplex at Southpointe Wednesday night. The Bombers opened the scoring at 16:02 of the first period when GRADY MOORE took a slapshot from the right point that was accidentally deflected by Nailers defenseman Ray DiLauro. There was no scoring in the second period. ALEX JOHNSTONE gave the Bombers a 2-0 lead with his first goal of the season 1:21 seconds into the third period. TYLER KOLARIK (4:51) and BEN KNOPP (16:03) made it 4-0, before Randy Perry scored a SHG to snap the shutout bid of MIKE AYERS with only 1:48 remaining.

Saturday at Toledo, (3-2 W, ot)

Toledo, OH – The Dayton Bombers needed overtime to beat the Toledo Storm, 3-2, in front of a capacity crowd of 5,361 at the Toledo Sports Arena Saturday night. The Bombers were outshot 17-6 in the first period, but the teams remained scoreless after 20 minutes. SCOTT CAMERON opened the scoring with his 6th goal. Early third period goals from Noah Whyte and Maris Ziedins gave Toledo their first lead, 2-1. But the hero for Dayton proved to be JANNE JOKILA who tied the game late in the third period, and scored the game-winning goal in overtime.

Sunday at Toledo, (1-2 L)

Toledo, OH – The Dayton Bombers dropped a 2-1 decision to the Toledo Storm in front of 2,795 at the Toledo Sports Arena Sunday afternoon. There was no scoring in the first two periods, and the Bombers were outshot 21-13 in the opening 40 minutes. The game's first goal was scored by Toledo's Todd Jackson at the 8:55 mark of period three. The Bombers tied the game, 1-1, when SCOTT CAMERON beat Storm goaltender Scott Fankhouser with a high-rising shot at 12:50. The game-winning goal was scored by Steve Slonina with 3:54 remaining in regulation.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – The Dayton Bombers nominated MIKE AYERS for ECHL Goaltender of the Week. The 25-year old Hingham, Massachusetts native went 2-1-0 last week with a 1.63 Goals Against Average. He has now started 14 consecutive games for the Bombers while Andrew Penner remains with the Syracuse Crunch.
