ATLANTIC CITY - WEEK RECORD: 0-2-0 - SEASON RECORD: 21-11-5 - T-1st NORTH DIVISION

BULLIES REWIND: The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies dropped a pair of games to the Peoria Rivermen on Friday and Sunday at Carver Arena. Atlantic City goes into the all-star break just 1-5-1 in their last seven games, and now sit tied atop the North Division standings with the Reading Royals with 47 points apiece.

Friday, Peoria's Brian McCullough tallied a pair of goals and added an assist to lead the Peoria Rivermen to a 4-1 victory over the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies before 4486 at Carver Arena. Peoria (15-15-4) opened the scoring at 14:30 of the first period with a power play goal. Chris Bogas from the right-wing circle ripped a slap shot through traffic past a screened Bullies goaltender Jake Moreland to give the Rivermen a 1-0 lead. Atlantic City would net the equalizer at 6:33 of the second period. Scott Horvath from the left-wing circle drew Peoria goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu out beyond his crease before sliding the puck across the slot to an open Jason Notermann who tipped it into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1. Brian McCullough regained the lead for Peoria when he ripped a slap from the left point past Moreland who was without a stick at 18:25 of the period to send the Rivermen into the second intermission with a 2-1 advantage. McCullough increased Peoria's lead to 3-1 with his second goal of the evening, a shorthanded tally with a tip past Moreland at 4:25 of the third period. Rejean Stringer capped the scoring with a power play goal at 12:39 to make the final count 4-1. Peoria out-shot the Bullies 35-27. Moreland stopped 31 shots as he fell to 19-7-4. Atlantic City went 0-5 on the power play.

Sunday, the Peoria Rivermen used three power play goals to defeat the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies 3-1 before 3962 at Carver Arena. The Bullies head into the three-day All-Star break tied atop the North Division with the Reading Royals with 47 points apiece. Peoria (16-15-4) opened the first period with a pair of power play goals. Brian McCullough intercepted a clearing attempt with his glove and pushed the puck across the slot to Jake Riddle who tipped it past Bullies goaltender Tyler MacKay at 9:18 for a 1-0 lead. Patrick Wellar made it 2-0 with a two-man advantage power play goal at 17:43 of the period. Wellar moved behind the Bullies cage, angled out to the left-wing circle and put a low wrist shot through MacKay's pads and into the net for the tally. Chris Bogas gave the Rivermen a 3-0 advantage with a power play goal from the blue line at 2:52 of the second period that ended MacKay's night. Atlantic City (21-11-5) would respond at the end of the period when Brett Nowak slid the puck to a streaking Kelsey Muench charging the slot, and Muench ripped a shot past Peoria goaltender Alfie Michaud at 18:39 to cut the deficit to 3-1. Peoria out-shot Atlantic City 32-30. MacKay stopped 9 shots to take the loss falling to 0-2-0 on the season. The Bullies went 0-8 on the power play.

BULLIES "TOP DAWG" AWARD: Each Monday from now until the end of the season, Public Relations and Broadcasting Manager Dan Weiss will select the Bullies "Top Dawg" for the week. This week's winner is Scott Horvath who tallied his first point since December 11 vs. Johnstown. Horvath has been one of the Bullies most consistent players over the last few weeks.

EIGHT WAS NOT ENOUGH: The eight power play chances Atlantic City recorded on Sunday matched a season-high. The Bullies also had eight power play opportunities back on November 7 at Dayton. As in the game on November 7, Atlantic City went 0-8 on the power play and is now 4-60 in their last 16 games on the man advantage. Meanwhile, the seven power play chances Peoria enjoyed matched a season-high for opponents' power plays, while the three power play goals the Rivermen scored set a new Bullies season-high for power play goals allowed.

WHERE'S THE "O"? With only two goals this weekend, the Bullies have tallied just 10 goals in their last seven games and has seen their goals per game average fall to 2.86, tied for 16th in the ECHL. The Bullies are 11-0-2 when they score four or more goals, as opposed to 10-11-3 when they score fewer than four goals.

FACE-OFF AGAINST KIDS CANCER CONTINUES: The Boardwalk Bullies second annual "Face-Off Against Kids Cancer" will culminate on Friday, January 28 and Sunday, January 30 when the Bullies take the ice wearing special commemorative jerseys dedicated to each child. The jerseys will be auctioned off beginning with a silent auction of January 28 and continuing with a live auction following the game on January 30, with the proceeds benefiting Caps For Kids, a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing hats signed by athletes and entertainers to kids who lose their hair due to chemotherapy treatments of cancer, Alfred I. duPont Hospital For Children in Wilmington, Delaware, and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

POWER PLAY FOR UNITED WAY: For a second consecutive season, the Bullies have teamed up with United Way to support the Power Play For United Way. For every power play goal the Bullies score in 2004-05, area businesses including Baumgardner Construction, RLS CopiScan, AtlantiCare, Tropicana Casino Resort & Hotel and Glenn Insurance will donate $10 to the United Way of Atlantic County. This season the Bullies have tallied 25 power play goals, good for $1250 towards Power Play For United Way.

GET REAL, GO LIVE, AND GIVE BACK: The Boardwalk Bullies will donate a portion of ticket sales from their home games on Friday, February 11 and Saturday, February 12 to the James Beck Foundation and the UNICEF Tsunami Relief Fund. WATCH THE BULLIES LIVE IN '04-05: The Bullies have teamed up with B2 Networks to bring you live action of Boardwalk Bullies hockey in 2004-05. Bullies fans will be able to click the Watch the Game Live icon at the Bullies website to view and listen to the game. These broadcasts are available to fans for a charge of $6 per game. All 36 Bullies home broadcasts will be available in addition to over 20 road games in Trenton, Reading, Johnstown, and Wheeling. A cable or DSL Internet connection and Windows Media Player 9 are required to view the games.

UP NEXT: Following the All-Star Break, the Bullies will return to action for three games in three nights this weekend. Atlantic City hosts the Trenton Titans in the first game of a home-and-home series at 7:05PM on Friday for PACK THE HOUSE NIGHT at Historic Boardwalk Hall. The two clubs play the back-end of the home-and-home series at 7PM Saturday at Sovereign Bank Arena. Sunday, the Bullies return to Historic Boardwalk Hall at 2:05PM to battle the Johnstown Chiefs. Every Sunday home game is "Kids Day". All kids 12-and-under get in for just $1 with the purchase of a $15 adult premier ticket. The "Face-Off Against Kids Cancer" live auction will follow the game.
