Dayton 4 @ Wheeling 1
The Nailers hosted Dayton at Iceoplex at Southpointe for their second home game away from WesBanco Arena. Grady Moore gave Dayton a 1-0 lead at 16:02 of the first period from Tyler Kolarik and Matt Herneisen. Dayton increased their lead to 4-0 with three goals in the third period. Alex Johnston, Kolarik and Ben Knopp scored the goals for the Bombers. The Nailers lone goal of the game was scored by Randy Perry at 18:12 of the third period. Perry's goal was a shorthanded goal assisted by Ed McGrane and Brendon Hodge. Dany Sabourin made 20 saves on 23 shots for the loss.
Friday, January 21
Wheeling 2 @ Toledo 4
Evgeny Lazarev gave the Nailers a 1-0 lead with a goal at 3:20 of the first period. Ray DiLauro and Chris MacKenzie assisted on the goal. Toledo tied the game 1-1 with a power play goal at 8:00 of the first period. Toledo took the lead for good with a goal at 6:58 of the second period from Sam Paolini. Steve Slonina increased the Storm lead to 3-1 at 15:23 of the third period. Brendon Hodge cut the Nailers deficit to 3-2 with a power play goal at 19:57 from DiLauro and Ed McGrane. Toledo ended the scoring at 5:06 of the final period on Slonina's second goal of the game. Joe Exter made 30 saves in the loss.
Player Notes: Dany Sabourin leads the ECHL with a 1.67 goals against average, a .942 save percentage and five shutouts...He is tied for the league lead in wins with 19...Ray DiLauro leads the league with 17 power play points...He is also tied for fourth among defensemen in scoring with 27 points, eight goals and 19 assists...DiLauro's eight goals is tied for second best among defensemen...Ed McGrane leads the Nailers in goals with 12 and points with 29...DiLauro and Chris MacKenzie are tied for the team lead with 19 assists...McGrane and Brendon Hodge are tied for the longest point scoring streak of the season, both currently at seven games.
Team Notes: The Nailers have increased their power play to 15th in the league at 16.4% and are tied for the fifth best penalty kill at 86.1%...The Nailers have the second best home penalty kill at 90.7%...Wheeling leads the ECHL in goals against per game allowing just 2.29

Wheeling @ Dayton 7:00p.m.
The Nailers travel to Dayton for the final time this season. The Nailers are 3-4-0 against the Bombers this season, 2-3-0 at Dayton.
Saturday, January 29
Reading @ Wheeling 8:00p.m.
The Nailers host the Reading Royals at 8:00pm on Pittsburgh Pirates Caravan Night. Pirates players Jack Wilson, Rob Mackowiak and Mike Gonzalez along with General Manager Dave Littlefield will be at WesBanco Arena. The Nailers are 2-3-1 against the Royals this season, 1-2-0 in Wheeling.
Sunday, January 30
Trenton @ Wheeling 5:05p.m.
The Nailers close the weekend at home against the Trenton Titans. The Nailers are 3-0-0 against the Titans this season, 2-0-0 in Wheeling. Their will be a skate with the Nailers after the game. Fans are encouraged to bring their skates to WesBanco Arena and join the Nailers players on the ice after the game for a skate.
Nailers Player of the Week:
The Nailers Player of the Week is Brendon Hodge. Hodge had two points in two games last week. He assisted on the Nailers only goal on Wednesday and had a goal in Toledo on Friday.
Nailers Goaltender of the Week:
The Nailers Goaltender of the Week is Joe Exter. Exter was 0-1-0 in two games played last week. He made eight saves on nine shots in a relief appearance on Wednesday and 30 saves on 34 shots in a loss on Friday.
