Manchester Monarchs News Release

MANCHESTER, NH - The American Hockey League announced today that Manchester Monarchs defenseman Denis Grebeshkov has been selected to the PlanetUSA team for the 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic, which takes place January 31-February 1 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Grebeshkov, 22, led all Monarchs defensemen with 16 points (0-16=16) this season upon his recall to the Los Angeles Kings on December 26. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Yaroslavl, Russia, has 41 penalty minutes and a plus-4 rating in 28 games with the Monarchs. Grebeshkov, currently with the Kings, has three assists in nine career NHL games - all with the Kings.

Originally selected by the Kings in the first-round (18th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Grebeshkov was a member of PlanetUSA at the 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic held in Manchester, New Hampshire.

The 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic will take place at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, home of the AHL's Manitoba Moose, and will feature the top young talent in the American Hockey League. The event gets underway on Tuesday, January 31, with the 2006 CCM AHL All-Star Skills Competition at 7:00 p.m. (CT).
