Mogilny Assigned to Albany

Albany N.Y. - The Albany River Rats announced today that right wing Alexander Mogilny has been assigned to the club by the New Jersey Devils.

Mogilny, 36, posted 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in 34 games with the Devils during the 2005-06 campaign. He has 473 goals and 559 assists for 1,032 points in 990 National Hockey League games with Buffalo, Vancouver, Toronto and New Jersey. Mogilny set career highs with a league-leading 76 goals and 51 assists for 127 points in 77 games with the Sabres during the 1992-93 season. He was originally drafted by Buffalo with their 5th choice (89th overall) in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. The five-time NHL All-Star won the Lady Byng Trophy during the 2002-03 season and has been named to the league's Second All-Star Team on two occasions (1995-96 & 1992-93). Mogilny won an Olympic Gold Medal in 1988 and a Stanley Cup in 2000 with the Devils.

The Albany River Rats, owned and operated by Capital District Sports Inc., are in their 13th American Hockey League campaign and serve as the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils.
