Pittsburgh recalls Sabourin from Pens

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled goaltender Dany Sabourin from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced today by General Manager Craig Patrick.

Sabourin, 25, has posted a 15-1-1 record this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, recording a 1.78 goals against average and a .939 save percentage with three shutouts. Sabourin is tied for third the AHL in wins, is tied for first (with Marc-Andre Fleury) among AHL goaltenders in save percentage, ranks second (behind Fleury) in goals against average and is tied for second in shutouts.

The 6-2 and 190-pound native of Val d'Or, Quebec was signed as a free agent by the Pittsburgh Penguins on August 10, 2005. Sabourin was originally drafted by Calgary in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 1998 Entry Draft.
