January 11, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Albany Devils News Release
Lowell, Mass. - The Lowell Lock Monsters will host a pair of games this weekend at Tsongas Arena in Lowell. After a road game in Manchester Friday night, the Monsters host the Providence Bruins on Saturday, January 14th at 7:35p.m. and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Sunday the 15th at 4:05 p.m.
On Saturday night, the first 2,500 fans will receive a Lock Monsters winter cap, courtesy of TD Banknorth. The stylish black caps are adorned with the Lock Monsters and TD Banknorth logos and are specifically designed to help retain body heat during vicious New England Winters!
Saturday is also Locks of Love Night. The Monsters are teaming up with area Fantastic Sams locations to benefit Locks of Love - a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. Fantastic Sams will have stations set up to snip donations. They will also offer $5 buzz cuts and $3 colored hair gel streaking to raise funds for the Locks of Love organization. Those receiving a charitable snipping will receive a coupon good for a free styling at a Fantastic Sams location at a later date - no styling will be available on the night of the game.
Sunday's game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers begins at 4:05 p.m. at Tsongas Arena. Sunday games feature Family Four Packs - buy four tickets, four scrumptious hot dogs and four refreshing Pepsis for just $49. All members of Louie's Little Monsters Kids Club receive complimentary admission to Sunday games as well, as part of their membership package. After the game, there will be a public skate on the Tsongas Arena ice for everyone in attendance. Complimentary skate rental is also available, or fans can bring their own skates.
All games home and away can be heard live on 980 WCAP, and viewed through B2 Networks, the official broadband provider of the AHL, with the "Voice of the Lock Monsters" Ryan Johnston. Log on to www.lockmonsters.com to watch or listen online.
