Rissmiller selected to PlanetUSA All-Star Team

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Barons, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced today that left wing Patrick Rissmiller has been named to the PlanetUSA All-Star Team for the 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic, to be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba Jan. 31-Feb. 1.

Rissmiller currently leads the Barons in scoring with 33 points (10-23-33) in 43 games. His 23 assists are also tops on the team. The fourth year pro is the Barons All-Time Assists leader with 103 assists and ranks 2nd All-Time in Barons Scoring.

Last season the 6-foot-4, 205-pound native of Belmont, MA ended the season with 21 goals and 23 assists for 44 points. His 21 goals and eight power play goals were second on the team and his 44 points were third.

In 2003-04, Rissmiller registered 15 points in his first 14 games, earning a trip to San Jose. He became the first Holy Cross and MAAC product to appear in an NHL game, going scoreless in 4 games with the Sharks. He finished the season with 45 points (14-31-45) in 75 games.

Rissmiller is the ninth member in Barons franchise history to be selected to the AHL All-Star Game. In 2002, the Barons were represented by Jonathan Cheechoo, Mike Craig, and Ryan Kraft. Niko Dimitrakos and Jim Fahey were selected to play in the 2003 game and Miroslav Zalesak and Garrett Stafford appeared in 2004. Last season, Christian Ehrhoff was honored with a selection.

The Barons will return to National City Rink located in The Q on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 against the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights at 7:05pm.
