Hale Named PlanetUSA All-Star

Albany N.Y. - The American Hockey League announced today that Albany River Rats defenseman David Hale has been named to the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star squad for the 2006 Rbk AHL All-Star Classic to be played at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 1.

Hale, 24, posted two goals and five assists for seven points in 30 games with the River Rats during the 2005-06 campaign. He is currently on recall wit the New Jersey Devils where he is scoreless with a minus one rating in seven games. The first time all-star totaled five (2-3) points in 30 games with Albany last year after beginning his pro career with four assists and 72 penalty minutes in 65 contests with New Jersey during the 2003-04 campaign. The Colorado Springs, Colorado native was drafted by the Devils with their first choice (20th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

The 2006 Rbk AHL All-Star Classic gets underway on Tuesday, January 31, with the 2006 CCM AHL All-Star Skills Competition at 7:00pm (CT). The annual All-Star Game follows at 7:00pm (CT) on Monday, February 1, and will be televised live in the United States and Canada.

The Albany River Rats, in their 13th season as a member of the American Hockey League, are owned and operated by Capital District Sports Inc., and serve as the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils.
