January 3, 2026 - SYRACUSE, NY - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins were shut-out for the first time this season in their 6-0 loss to the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday night at Upstate Medical University Arena.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (22-9-1-2) was doomed by a five-goal first period, but never solved Syracuse goalie Brandon Halverson on its 17 shots on goal, either.

January 1, 2026 - WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have recalled forwards Brayden Edwards and Zach Urdahl from their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers.
Edwards, 21, has logged three goals and eight assists for 11 points in his first 22 pro games with Wheeling. The native of Abbotsford, British Colombia signed a two-year AHL contract with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on May 23, 2025.
Prior to turning pro, Edwards played four seasons in the Western Hockey League. He suited up in 247 WHL games as... Full Story
December 31, 2025 - WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have reassigned defensemen Brent Johnson and Tommy Budnick to their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers.
Additionally, the Penguins have released forward William Dufour from his PTO. In six games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Dufour logged one goal.
Both Johnson and Budnick appeared in one game for the Penguins this season, Sunday, Dec. 28 at Lehigh Valley. On that Sunday afternoon, Budnick made his AHL debut.
