David Breazeale Reassigned to Nailers
January 12, 2026 - WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have reassigned defenseman David Breazeale to their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers.
Breazeale logged four games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton during his recent recall. He scored his first AHL goal on Dec. 28 at Lehigh Valley, then gathered his first AHL assist in the next game, Dec. 30 vs. Charlotte.

January 11, 2026 - WHEELING, WV- The Trois-Rivières Lions may have captured the ECHL's greatest hardware in 2024-25, but this weekend at WesBanco Arena, the Wheeling Nailers weren't about to bow down to the defending champions. Wheeling swept Trois-Rivières in three games, while outscoring the Lions, 13-5. January 10, 2026 - WHEELING, WV- The theme of the night was a perfect fit on Saturday night at WesBanco Arena, as the Wheeling Nailers were every bit of fantastic in their 5-0 triumph over the Trois-Rivières Lions. Connor Lockhart led the offensive attack by opening the scoring and adding two assists in his 100th professional goal. January 10, 2026 - CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins wrapped up their first half of the regular season with a 5-1 loss to the Charlotte Checkers on Saturday night at Bojangles' Coliseum.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (23-10-1-2) fell by the same score that it defeated Charlotte by fewer than 24 hours before. Ben Steeves was named the night's first star by providing one goal and three assists, paired with a pair of goals by rookie Jack Devine.
