The Florida Everblades defeated the South Carolina Stingrays 3-1 on consecutive nights this past weekend and moved into a tie for fourth place in the Southeast Division Standings. The Everblades take on the Columbus Cottonmouths on Friday and Saturday night at TECO Arena. Both contests begin at 7:30 PM. All 72 regular season games can be heard on Sportsradio 770 AM, NewsRadio 1660 AM and on the Internet at www.floridaeverblades.com with the "Voice of the Everblades" Mark Miller calling the play-by-play. Listen to 'The Gerry Fleming Coaches Show' presented by Stevie Tomato's Sportspage each Monday on Sportsradio 770 AM from 6:30-7:30 PM. Tonight's show will be live on remote at the Ft. Myers location with guest Marty Johnston.
UP NEXT AT TECO ARENA: On Friday, November 8th and 9th the Everblades battle the Columbus Cottonmouths at TECO Arena. Both games begin at 7:30 PM. Friday night magnetic schedules will be given away and Saturday is spirit night. For tickets to any of these upcoming events please call 334-3309.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Cottonmouths will meet for the second time this season. The Everblades fell to the Cottonmouths 3-2 in a shootout on October 13th. Columbus and Florida are currently tied for fourth place in the Southeast Division standings. Florida holds an 5-2-1 record all-time against the Cottonmouths and a 3-0-0 record at TECO Arena. Last season, Florida went 5-2-0 against Columbus and were 3-0-0 at TECO Arena. Cottonmouths forward Jeff Zehr leads Columbus in scoring with 7-8-15 in 10 games played which ranks him tied for eighth in the ECHL. His 5 power play goals ranks him second in the ECHL. Florida goaltender Rob Zepp is ranked fourth in the ECHL in goals against average with 1.96 and is ranked fourth in save percentage with a .935. The Cottonmouths power play ranks 8th and their penalty kill ranks 23rd . The Everblades power play currently ranks 23rd in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 5th.

Marty Johnston's first professional goal helped the Everblades defeat the South Carolina Stingrays 3-1 in front of 4,920 at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Everblades improve to 3-3-3 while the Stingrays lose for first time this season.
Saturday, November 2nd @ SC 3-1 W
Rob Zepp stopped 29 of 30 shots as the Everblades won their second straight game defeating the South Carolina Stingrays 3-1 in front of 6,239 at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Everblades improve to 4-3-3 while the Stingrays slip to 6-2-0.

ECHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL player of the week nomination is forward Marty Johnston. The Gloucester, Ontario native registered a goal in the Everblades 3-1 win over South Carolina on Friday night and an assist in the 3-1 win on Saturday night. Johnston was credited with the game winning goal on Saturday as well. For his efforts on Friday night he was awarded the second star of the game.
ECHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL goaltender of the week nomination is Rob Zepp. The Newmarket, Ontario native was 2-0-0 this past week. Zepp is ranked fourth in the ECHL in goals against average with 1.96 and fourth in the ECHL in save percentage with a .935. Rob was awarded the first star of the game in Friday night's 3-1 win over South Carolina.
EVERBLADES IN THE COMMUNITY: On Monday November 4th Keith Anderson and George Awada will be at San Carlos Elementary. On Tuesday, November 5th Everblades head coach Gerry Fleming will be speaking at the Estero Lions Club meeting and Ryan Murphy will be hosting a pizza party for the Halloween costume contest winner at Breakaway Sports Pub. On Wednesday, November 6th two Everblades players will be at Seagate Elementary at 1:45 PM.
